can somebody help me please

hi,  i installed smf 1.1.4 today with no problems,  i then preceded to install tiny portal v0.9.8 and for some reason under the portal option in my admin cp there are no options    i cannot access block manager for example as there is no option to?    does anybody know what has caused this?

Try using the search function to see if the question has been asked before or maybe just take a look at the sticky posts at the top of the board.

It is a very common question which is why we have already answered it with a sticky post to help peeps who also have the problem.

i have read the sticky and it says to change the language from english-utf8 to english,  but i cant do that as it says on my forum " These settings cannot be changed because Settings.php is read only."

any ideas?

You need to change the permissions for that file so that it is either 755 or 777.  YOu can do this with a ftp client or by going to your admin panel and going to packages>optoins> make all files writable>enter your ftp info>
