I have been testing SMF 1.1.4 with latest TP in the folder of [SMF] on my hosts webspace.

After all my testing I wanted to try a final install that will stay that way and use just normal root of the hosts webspace (so don't need SMF on end of url)

Installed SMF and TP the extact same way as before but now it wont seem to install TP.

Uploads fine but and the tests all pass but then get an 552 error.
Checked forum and tried the solution of creating a Temp folder in packages with 777 chmod.

It then says installed but there is no usually frontpage change or any options on the left for TP (no title or sub options at all)

But if I install SMF and TP in a seperate folder it works, is there any way to fix this?

Ohh I did try a manual install of TP also but was the same.

What theme do you have as default (theme you install TP to ? )
When you copy and paste all the code edits manually to the SMF files, does the files update ?
You could have a file owner permission issue, if the server is the owner of the file, you cant edit it no matter what you do.
Make sure the files update with the new code you paste in them.

As with previous fresh install the theme is set at "SMF Defult Theme - Core"
Permissions are set right (777) on the files I edit.

The error log when I try to auto install TP (as normal just on the root of my host and not in a folder) I get 147 pages of errors regarding the one file:

1 example
http://benten.purplecloud.net/index.php?action=packages;sa=install2;package=TP_0983.zip
Apply Filter: Only show the errors with the same message
2: gzwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource
File: /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/benten.purplecloud.net/httpdocs/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 2091

Just seems weird that it works perfectly when in a folder (http://benten.purplecloud.net/smf) but can't get it to work at all on the root.

This error here supplied argument is not a valid stream resource show us that you indeed have permission errors to the Sources directory and the files in it

When you made the manuall install to the files in the Sources directory, did they save the edits correctly ?
