Just before I went to bed last night I took a look at my forum.  The entire front page had disappeared.  I had a backup copy of my index.template.php but it was fairly old and didn't contain a lot of my extra buttons however, I didn't want to leave my forum without an opening page that the members couldn't see so I uploaded the old index.template.php file.

The problem disappeared but so did all my buttons.  When I put the old index.template.php back up I am able to re-create the problem.

Here is where tiny portal comes in.  Tiny portal doesn't work anymore.  It didn't work when my front page was missing and it doesn't work with the new index.template.php.

When I try to un-install and then re-install tiny portal it won't run.
Can anyone tell me how I can get my tiny portal to run again?

by the way, when I go into admin.  Everything is completely intact all my RSS feeds and stats etc.  However it will not appear no matter what I do.

PLEASE HELP... I have come to really love tiny portal and don't want to do without it.

for you IchBin:

I have added an arcade link although that wasn't working either at the time.  You won't see anything that I am talking about because for now I have at least a working forum.  However, tiny portal is gone.

Let me know ASAP as I don't want to keep this link up here very long

I just tried to install tiny portal again (hoping) it doesn't show any errors in package manager but when it does install it freezes the blocks on the left (they are set to colapse) and the forum boards do not appear.

I have un-installed tiny portal for that very reason.  I don't know what you are going to gain by looking at it but you're the guru...you tell me???  :)

I removed your link and login. As for the install, its hard to say without being able to see it in action. Perhaps you have something in one of your blocks that is causing some havok. After you install TP again try your url with this on the end of your link.

index.php?action=forum;noblocks

Go into your admin for TP and take out any custom blocks. Then go back to your forum page and see if its working ok.

Thanks for your insight.  I turned off all the tiny portal blocks and then turned them on one by one.  When I got to the Felblog it would not work.  I have kept that turned off and haven't had any problems since.

It would have never occured to me to turn off the blocks if you hadn't made the suggestion.  Thank you for the much needed help.

You never disappoint.  I hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

Ken.

Fel has a new version of FelBlog out that installs directly to SMF without affecting TinyPortal in any way unless you use the add-on code for a TP block. It works very well on my install, so you might want to consider trying it to see if it will fill your needs without causing issues with your pages and blocks.

thanks for the heads up.  I think that was the one I was using but I will double check to see.

I didn't have an issue for at least 2 weeks after I installed FelBlog.

I think the issue started when I added some games to my arcade but... now that I got rid of the FelBlog I am not having any more issues.

As I said I will check it out and see if it was that version you are talking about.
