Display forum message as article?

Is there a way to display a forum message as an article with the functionality as an article? This would be a nice way to highlight great forum messages.

What about the other way around? Could I automatically post an article to a forum when created or afterwards?

Can I group articles and forum messages so that articles are displayed above any forum message on the start page?

SSI functions in an article can probably do what you need.

If you point you're browser to:
http://yoursite.com/ssi_examples.php

and

You will open examples of SSI functions that are packaged with SMF.

The third point... You could do this in a center block and display it in a board of you're choice, again using SSI functions. Explore SSI.. it enables you to pull various bits of information into an area of choice.

What I meant with my first question is that if I post something as an article, is there a way to automatically have that article posted to a specific board. Another way to look at this; Can Tiny Portal and SMF share the same database for a message regardless if posted as an article or in a forum/board?

SSI seems very exiting! Couple of questions;

1. I assume I can use SSI in a box, right? How do I do this properly? I tried a PHP box and included the code but got an error.

2. When using the "recentTopics" function, can I specify a forum to get the topics from or does it always include all forums?

TinyPortal cannot post an article to the SMF topics.

Recent topics can be customized in a block. Check the block code snippets board for more info on that.
