I got tiny portal working after a bit of work. The shout box is in use. In admin I can see the shoutbox and can type in a shout. But everyone else see's the shoutbox but the form to type shout is not visible. Not sure what to do. My url is http://superparentstalk.com/forum/index.php it may help understand what I am talking about.

Thanks

If the shoutbox is not set to let guests post shouts this really won't help, do you have a test account set up someone coudl use to see what is going on?

Fogive my stupidity, but assume you mean a test account in which someone can log in and have permissions same as admin?

Thanks

Yes, that way someone could check the settings on your shoutbox.

yeah user: test  pass:testing

thanks

Everything looks ok, delete that account now, I am gonna try and see it from a user point of view.

Ok set up a regular user account "test1" (which you can delete as well now) and was able to post in the shout box.

Okay those accounts deleted. Thanks for checking it for me. It was really a stupid thing on my part. I have it set so guests can't give a shout and never stopped to think the input box would not be visible for them. Sorry to have wasted your time but your help was much appreciated. I'm thinking this working endlessly on 3 sites at a time is getting to me causing brain malfunctions, lol.

Thanks a bunch

For future reference, you can enable the admin to only be a TP admin. Posting a user/pass for SMF admin is asking for trouble if some kid comes by and decides to have fun on your forum. If you're going to give SMF admin PM the info to the user.
