Page content won't print on modded Juno theme

This has me stumped!

I am using SMF 1.1.2, TP 0.9.8 and Juno theme with some small header modifications.

Problem is that when I try to print a page from the browser (IE6, 7 & Firefox), I get my topbar code output but nothing else.

Can someone have a look at a print preview of a page and see if you can spot something in the source that would defeat printing of the page content?

http://forexforsmarties.com

I am also using Wikistyle on sections of the site, eg FAQ, and print preview shows the article header but not the body.

Thanks in advance!

Jen

I see no problem when viewing the print page in either the Juno theme or the Wiki theme.
Below is a copy/paste of the print screen viewed as a guest.

Title: Anyone else worried about the usd?
Post by: SteveHopwood on April 19, 2007, 05:29:49 AM
I am trading all four pairs and the weakness of the usd has taken my account into an uncomfortably deep drawdown. I remember with dread the steady decline of the gbp in late Feb, and sweat about the Monday morning when I awoke to find my demo accounts had been wiped out.

The daily usdjpy chart looks especially scary. It shows a massive head and shoulders; currencies frequently fall a long way when emerging from one of these. Other period settings do not look any more encouraging.

I have taken out short usdchf and usdjpy positions equal to those of my long, to make sure I do not get wiped out should the jpy continue to fall. I can cancel these if it starts to recover again. In the meantime, the market movements have a neutral effect, and the interest is great.

Anybody else worried about the yen, or am I just being a wuss?

;D

Later edit:
It occurred to me that I do not have to be passive. I have set a +10 pips tp, and a pending new sell order at the tp profit points, so I can make some profit out of a continued fall of the usd. I can repeat this until the usd recovers.

I used to be worried...in one account I'm still long at 121.00 U/J from Feb and manually trading from the calculator!  I guess I'm just used to drawdown now.  Sooner or later I'll be able to close this puppy.

Question for you?  If you are getting knocked around by the GPB and Yen then why not just stay with the EUR/USD and USD/CHF pairs?  I too am not happy with this drawdown, but I trade the least volatile pairs just for that reason. In this uncertain economic climate where the pairs(especially the usdjyp) take on a mind of their own and just go in a certain direction sometimes with no visible reason, a persons volatility comfort level vs. monetary stamina should be considered.  I thought four pairs were the way to go until I read the article about the different volatility levels assigned to the numerous pairing combinations, and determined I could sleep and was most comfortable with the least volatile combination.

I am in a drawdown also, but I am amazed at how comfortable I am just with being committed to the EURUSD and USDCHF.

I started trading just EUR/USD and USD/CHF; my account went through a drawdown that was a higher percentage of the balance than it is now. Drawdowns do not bother me, which is why I am now happy to trade all four pairs.

It was the continuing weakening of the usd that had me worried, and I think yesterday was one of those I-am-getting-my-knickers-in-a-twist days.

Hehe. I added a hedge to the usd\chf\jpy pairs and took some decent profits as the usd continued to fall. During the afternoon (gmt), it suddenly bounced back up and has risen quite a bit since, so my hedge turned into a liability. I had to hedge the hedge  ;D

So the robot is turned off to avoid confusing it, and I have to wait until the unrealised p&l returns to a positive figure so that I can close the position and start again.

Hey ho.

:D

;D ;D ;D

"hedge the hedge" is the way to go, at least  for me also the information here is just what I needed  ;D,  I am up in the demo, started with 5.000  3 weeks ago, now the account is up to $ 21.000   $7000 in floating positions,  will keep them open, other demos are also in profit,  one real account had profits of 144% last month,  this month it is up 44%

Have learned a lot here on the forum, before I was following signal services, both free and paid  the last 2 years, also read all possible information on free forums, never got into profit, worst of all, was to follow signals services. >:(

Have learned from the members here and the smarties provider,  ;D read everything here on the forum, I am not using the smarties robot, but plan to use it with WS and FR then 3% on each

Thanks to everyone for sharing information :) :)

Phew. The drawdown finally passed over today - result another 2% profit.  ;D

For the 11 days or so of the drawdown, the eurusd gbpusd pairings were up. The usdchf usdjpy pairings were way down.

Today, the usd recovered its wits and the account balances hurtled into profit. Closing the hedged\hedged positions and setting the robot loose again was a relief.

Now, the positions are reversed - what was up is down whilst what was down is now up, and the accounts are poised to take some more profits.

That is the FFS hedging system working as it should. Next time I am being an old bidy, will someone slap me around, please?  ;D

We have said several times before that when we figure out a way to enjoy drawdowns, we will have it made!

Well done Steve! ;D
I'm a very happy vegemite too. The robot closed out both my accounts overnight and the profits are 8.5% on one account and 9.35% on the other in that period from 12 April.  How great is that!!!!!!!!!
So anyone still thinking about joining or subscribing to the robot?
I spend about 10 minutes every morning before I start my day checking my forex accounts and then thats about it.
Happy trading everyone :D ;) ;D

Hehe. The pc sits in our living room and I don't want to leave it on all the time because of the noise. I bought a lappy to live elsewhere; its sole function is to allow the robot to monitor three live accounts I have, plus the demos I am using for experimentation. It only gets a rest at the weekends, although it might get Christmas day off.  ;D

I love it when I get up  in the morning to find that positions have been closed\opened and profits taken whilst I was asleep. Live is very sweet at these moments.

yes I do enjoy my morning coffee even more when counting the profits!!!!! Its a favourite ritual ;D and a great start to a wonderful day!

I did notice some strange things.. When I first viewed you're site I see the default theme in the Forums. I'm not sure if you just switched back to Juno, but it seems fine again now.
The other thing was the Forum button on Juno's menu bar vanished. I refreshed the page and I can't seem to make that button vanish again.

I really can't see any problem with the print pages viewing as a guest.

fxsmarties

Thank you for your help.

Yes, I did switch themes a couple of times after posting to test more thoroughly.

The forum print pages are fine and work well. But there is no similar facility for the TP articles.

To print the home page, for instance, I would use File, Print Preview in the browser. And that is where you will see the problem. Nothing shows but my header.

If I remove my topbar code, it does not help. If I change the theme to default, print preview works fine. If I add my topbar code, it still works.

If I change to the unmodified Juno, print preview works.

So the problem seems to be in the couple of changes I made to Juno to clean up the header and get the left side blocks to work.

Thank you for trying!
