Hi - For some reason I cannot get the gap between these two blocks any smaller. I have checked the code and cannot see where I am going wrong. The example is at www.swwsc.co.uk top left, whats new and weather links. Can you see the white space between the two? (You do not need to register you can see as guest)

The code I am using for each block is:

<p align="center"><a href="http://www.swwsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=186"><img src="http://www.swwsc.co.uk/images/whatsnew2.gif" alt="What's New?" border="0" height="26" width="80"></a></p>

<form name="form1">
    <p><select onchange="window.open(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value)" name="favs1" size="1">
    <option selected="selected" value="index.php">Weather Links</option>
    <option value="-------------------">-------------------</option>
    <option value="http://www.westwind.ch/?page=theu">Theyr Wind</option>
    <option value="http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/HOME/">Metcheck</option>
    <option value="http://www.met-office.gov.uk/loutdoor/mountainsafety/brecon.html">National Parks</option>
    <option value="http://euro.wx.propilots.net/">Synoptic Charts</option>
    <option value="http://www.flyingineurope.be/aviation_weather_maps.htm">Europe Aviation</option>
    <option value="http://meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm">UK Synoptic Charts</option>
    <option value="http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/wales/index.shtml">BBC Wales Weather</option>
    <option value="http://www.meto.gov.uk/weather/europe/uk/wales.html">Met Office UK</option>
    <option value="http://www.xcweather.co.uk">XC Weather</option>
    <option value="http://www.wendywindblows.com/">Wendy Windblows</option>
    <option value="http://ukie.accuweather.com/ukie/mountain-forecast.asp?partner=forecastfox&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=EGREOL;Brecon%20Beacons">Mountain Forecast</option>
    <option value="http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?lang=eng">Wind Guru</option>
    <option value="http://skylinkweather.com/metar/metarmapindex.php">Skylink Weather</option>
    <option value="http://www.itadvice.co.uk/weatherjack/">WeatherJack</option>
    </select></p>
</form>

Any help appreciated in fixing this?

Not really sure but I have used what I consider a work around method and it has worked simply by putting the 2 in the same block.

Quote<p align="center">What's New?" border="0" height="26" width="80</p>

So put the above into the same block just above this part.

You may have to leave on line between as otherwise the code may be confused. This probably isn't the correct fix but I am a "code noob" so I have done this a few times...

I am not sure if that will help or if I am getting exactly what you mean but I think... :idiot2:

Hmm tried that and still the same result, going to try editing not using frontpage.

ok basically, the blocks don't seem to like white space. I have also put them into a table which has worked. The resulting code which works is:

<div align="left"><table border="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td><a href="http://www.swwsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=186"><img src="http://www.swwsc.co.uk/images/whatsnew2.gif" alt="Whats New" longdesc="http://www.swwsc.co.uk" border="0"></a></td></tr><tr><td><select onchange="window.open(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value)" name="favs1" size="1"><option selected="selected" value="index.php">Weather Links</option><option value="-------------------">-------------------</option><option value="http://www.westwind.ch/?page=theu">Theyr Wind</option><option value="http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/HOME/">Metcheck</option><option value="http://www.met-office.gov.uk/loutdoor/mountainsafety/brecon.html">National Parks</option><option value="http://euro.wx.propilots.net/">Synoptic Charts</option><option value="http://www.flyingineurope.be/aviation_weather_maps.htm">Europe Aviation</option><option value="http://meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm">UK Synoptic Charts</option><option value="http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/wales/index.shtml">BBC Wales Weather</option><option value="http://www.meto.gov.uk/weather/europe/uk/wales.html">Met Office UK</option><option value="http://www.xcweather.co.uk">XC Weather</option><option value="http://www.wendywindblows.com/">Wendy Windblows</option><option value="http://ukie.accuweather.com/ukie/mountain-forecast.asp?partner=forecastfox&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=EGREOL;Brecon%20Beacons">Mountain Forecast</option><option value="http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php?lang=eng">Wind Guru</option><option value="http://skylinkweather.com/metar/metarmapindex.php">Skylink Weather</option><option value="http://www.itadvice.co.uk/weatherjack/">WeatherJack</option></select></td></tr></tbody></table></div>

Basically I had to copy and paste into metapad, select all text and use the EDIT/BLOCK/UNWRAP LINES to put it onto one line. This may explain why I am having difficulty in using tables on the frontpage.

Dazed

Yep, looks good. I know I have had that white space issue before but I think it is me using the wrong text editor on occasion.

Porky

put the codes together, like at the end of the first code put a <br> then continue on with the next code and see if that fixes it.
