Sorry,  I don't access to the server on this installation.  I have to ask the server admin to make the CHMOD.

This is message I got when trying to install TP through package manager

FTP Information Required
Some of the files the package manager needs to modify are not writable. This needs to be changed by logging into FTP and using it to chmod or create the files and folders. Your FTP information may be temporarily cached for proper operation of the package manager.

Same files you need to edit with the manual install

For how to use the package manager, you have all info on Simplemachines.org

I did the complete write on all files and it still didn't work.  I just got email from the server admin, and he had locked me out of the fTP.

These guys are running paranoid.. LOL

If i were you i would change host

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear.  I am doing an SMF installation on an Xoops community website.  It is not on my server. The admin doesn't want me in their CPanel.  I have to tell them all the stuff I need done, and then they do it.

Funny, I could have installed SMF in about 10 minutes or less.  It took almost a day working back and forth over email with them.

My patience is wearing a little thin.  All they need to do is let me into the Cpanel and I can probably wrap most of the stuff that is an issue pretty fast.

You need to enter the password to go any further with that screen showing.
