I've got a frontpage block that I want to be visible on only the very first page, but right now, if you click to open any of the frontpage articles (I'm using the intro feature), the block is visible on the page with the article as well. Not cool, 'cause I'm using the frontpage block as a graphical navigation system for my forum boards, and it takes up a lot of space.  I'm assuming I could use a custom action, but I'm clueless as to how to implement a new one for that, or if it's possible, or if there's a much easier way I don't know about.  Sorry if this is a newb question...

Assign the block to only be visible on the article in the edit block page.

i'm saying i don't want the block visible with the article, only on the first page of the site.  i want the article to be the only thing on the page when it's clicked on, but it's considering the article page as a frontpage too, so any front page block is displayed with it.

You'll have to use centerblock instead, until Bloc adds the additional block features.

how does centerblock help? and is there not some way to change the template or something to disable the frontpage block for any page other than the main index? i can see the custom action selection helping in the centerblock, but "Home" or index isn't one of the options.  i'm sorry if this is a dumb question. i'm just trying to figure this out.  thanks for the attention and help...

As for now how TP is created so far, the Block have a lot more options to both layout, where to show them, and the functions for them.
Articles is under development to have almost the same, but in this version you have on your hands right now, you have to create blocks and place them, choose layout, and how they should be viewd and where.

Thats why IchBin said you should use a block instead of artickle to get what you want.

For now there is no easy way to give you what you want with articles, you have to wait for future releases during the development to get more options for articles, but they will come some time :)
