I need a solution for article management.
I have a articles categories box that will display the articles for a given category. However, when someone clicks on a article, the block dissapears. This is because I have the settings set to show when the "Recipes Welcome" article is displayed. The moment someone moves away from there, it dissapears.
If I'm not clear enough, here is what is happening.

Home Page:
Sitemap shows a "Kitchen" link.
When clicked, it opens the "Recipes Welcome" article.
The articles categories block now appears with a list of submitted recipes.
When a recipe is clicked on, the block dissapears and it now shows the recipe clicked.

I don't want the block to dissapear. I also don't want to have to make a seperate block with unique settings for each article I've got, just to show it on every article. Is there a round about way to achieve this without it showing up on EVERY page?

G6Cad

Edit the block to show in the articles you want it to show in, not just the first one.

Resident Geek

But doesn't that mean that I have to create a brand new instance of the block for each of the articles so that I can set it for each article?
I can seem to set the "Show in this article" for more than one article.
?????

G6Cad

I dont have a setup that i can see how it was made in TP V.097, but i think you should be able to actually edit the block you have to show only in a specific article, and then 5 more options to where it can be showed.
So check the settings for the block you have, and see if you have the option to set it to show in the other articles when they are opend up from the first article.

Resident Geek

???
Not sure what you mean, but here is a screen shot of what I've got.

I'm unable to make it show up in any recipes. Just the welcome article.

G6Cad

Im sorry, i think i have mixed up the settings for that part   :uglystupid2:

I dont know any way to get it like you want, but i do know Bloc is adding a lot more features on how the blocks and articles will be both shown and the options on where to show them.  :-\

Resident Geek

Got it figured out.
Here's what I did.
I made the block display only once on the Welcome article. When an article is displayed, the article is set to show other articles from the same category.
This way they still have navigation through the articles.
Thanks for your help G6!

BTW
eFiction works fine for Story management but not so well if you want a uniform look and feel.

Tiny Portal may want to consider creating a mod for fan-fic management.
