I have a site setup with MKP, and I want to switch to TP for 1.0.5.

My site has the following setup.

  • index.php
  • ../forum/
  • ../mk/

I would like to uninstall mkp and its database files...allready have that figured out.

What I need is help in keeping the same directory setup.
Having the TP index in the root and the forum in the forum directory.
I have tried this on a test board and have not figured it out

Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

SMF should be the index.php in the root of your directory. While SMF sat inside MKP; TP sits around SMF. Understand? SMF is the main file, and TP only modifies SMF, and is not a stand alone program.

clipdin

ok...understood.
But can I have TP and SMF in the Forum dir and the smf index in the root?

borgBOB

Yes. SMF must be the root. When you install TP, that does not change. What TP does do is mod the starting page to "HOME", or "The Bloc Zone" as used on this site. And then it adds a link to the forum. And a bit more.

clipdin

OK...but there must be some settings I will need to change in the forum and TP to have index refer to the /forum/ to work properly.  I messed with settings.php after moving smf index.php to the root but it would not load.

clipdin

as of mkp setup all smf files are under the /forum/

In SMF admin> Server setting>
Can you change these?

1) Forum URL
2)SMF Directory
3)Sources Directory

SMF offers a 'repair_settings.php' file which may help to reset the forum.

I can think of a few more round about ways to do this also.

I think there are settings somewhere for the themes as well.
