For those people who use firefox....the new release is Today :D Firefox 2 is coming out yippee :D

So we can have some fun with our current version...here is a bit of tip on how to speed up your firefox even more:

---------------------------------------------------------

For those of us who use Mozilla Firefox over Internet Explorer (something we all should do anyway) I have found a way to make it much faster. The browser will move from page to page anywhere from 2-30x faster than before, depending on what type of broadband connection you have. I have been using it for an hour, and the response time is much faster now.

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit enter. Scroll
down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time.
When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really
speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This
means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.
Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".
This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

I clicked on the update link and there's new update yet.  I did do the config fixes you described and seems faster to me, but FF is faster than IE to begin with   :o
