Well lets hear it!

What would everyone like to have in your site before they can say "AHHH now my site has everything!"

For me personally I would say my site has everything when the following features would be available:

- Download system with previews

- Media manager able to play all types of video and audio formats

- Picture Gallery + user galleries

- Links Directory

- User Blogs Skinable (thus my use of MKportal - it has the best blog skin system yet!)

- Article management

- Guestbook

- Forms (contact, recommend page and custom forms like newsletter)

- Forum

- Arcade system (SMF Mod)

- Universal Skins (aplicable to all mods + features)

- Chat, I use flash chat for that right now

- Membermap (i use google map for that) to see where the members are from

- Polling System (a professional one with display options pie chart, bar chart, and more centered around polling)

- Calender + Organizer: this is a feature I have been unable to find up to now but would LOVe to have: A calender + Organizer which allows EACH member to have their own are where they can store their contacts, bookmarks and events in their personal password protected organizer which they can also make publically available if needed

=========================

My site has a lot of those features already and some of them im not too happy with so I wouldnt mind a replacment.

So what does everyone else say?

Techdomain

used your one to show my wishlist/setup:

- Picture Gallery

- Links Mod (I use a page)

- Article management, including the ability to have multiple pages in an article

- real seo (search engine optimisation) with easy to read links

- Forms (contact, recommend page and custom forms like newsletter)

- Forum

- Arcade system (SMF Mod)

- Universal Skins (aplicable to all mods + features)

- Membermap (I use the mm mod)

- Polling System (a professional one with display options pie chart, bar chart, and more centered around polling)

- Password protect boards

- better recent and unread posts implementation, including the ability to search/retrieve "all posts from the last x hours/days"

- Staff/Team page

- member group moderates board (IE set only one member group to moderate a board, excluding others (not inc admin))

- Redirection Boards, Googlebot & Spiders Mod, Users Online Today as standard.

The things im missing is the things Bloc will put in to the final release (gallery with in TP, linkpage ) And Felines Blog module

Other then that i have pretty much the things i want to have on my site.

*SMF 1.1rc2 and TinyPortal offcourse
*Coppermine (going to replace that the day Bloc is done with the TP gallery module)
*TP Team page
*Arcade
*Downloadsection (pretty good filled up to now :)
*Google and Spider bot
*FlashChat
*Flash Gallery on frontpage

The only thing I don't have on my page... IS ME WORKING ON IT! lol
I don't have enough time to play lately :( All work no fun. I hate being a grown up. :D

gfxindia

I think SMf should do something to make the theming engine universal.
Like Vb,IPB,phpbb
Templates should be made more in number.

akulion

but then u would lose the coolness of customizability and uniqueness from the themes altogether

gfxindia

But in othe Forum softwares , mods work with all themes right ?

akulion

yes thats something we lose out on

so its Visual vs Feature I guess

but then again till now I have about 14 different mods on my board and I only know 1 thing in PHP --->
<php?
echo ' hello world';
?>
will print hello world lol

but i was able to modify any installation failures prety easily
It was hard work indeed to put them on all the themes but in the end its so worth it :D (in my opinion) - it makes you feel like u achieved something :D lol

IchBin

Not in phpbb. When I used that forum I had to change all the themes to have certain mods work.

akulion

to be honest I also have a working vBulliten installed on my server but I dont use it simply because I like smf better EVEN when it comes to features

but i do really love their user CP and reputation system!
