Hi

Nothing much to it...

1. Create a directory on your server anywhere you want

2. Download this file (rightclick and save as)

3. Unzip and Upload the file you downloaded to your directory

4. add this code to a SCRIPT / HTML block

<img src="http://www.mysite.com/myfolder/rotate.php" alt="A Random Image" />

Be sure to change www.mysite.com/myfolder to your website addy and folder path!

And thats all - enjoy :)

Demo: Here

- Currently 192 Comic Strips in Archive
- Garfeild
- Calvin & Hobbes
- Peanuts (snoopy)
- B.C.

NOTE: Dont put it as a side block or your site will look like frankenstine's nostrils

Details of how this thing works and its homepage can be found HERE

PS: All copyrights on images belong to their respective authors

looks good but i think it should be modified where it inserting the image file paths in every spot. make it to where the script pulls the images from the root folder and just add in the last part of the file, comic.gif

akulion

lol u will have to do that :p I dont know much about the script :D

I just like to collect thos comics (or atleast used to) so I had a bunch of them and got the idea

deadpoeticstar

lol i dont know much as to how to do it either :P but i do know some ideas just not how to implement them

akulion

well maybe one of the experts could do it - they know their scripting :D

#6
added peanuts series

deadpoeticstar

ok...does this script automatically update each comic each day or no?

akulion

it automatically updates on ever page load
So if a person keeps loading the TP main page they can eventually read all the comics :D

oh and for additional comics addition..simply copy the image tag and just increase the number in the code above

deadpoeticstar

well i think it should be where it shows the comic for that day

akulion

#10
More comics added : B.C. (look at 1st post)

akulion

#11
Big Nate added to collection

akulion

#12
Additional calvin & Hobbes Added

akulion

And thats the end of it :P

I think 192 comics is more than anyone will read :P

Have fun

Ray

akulion

I have a quick question: I added a few comics to the file that was already provided. Akulion said that for additional comics we should add the comic images to the file and change the NUMBER in the code. can someone tell me which number he/she is referring to please? Thanks!

IchBin

I don't think that you have to do that ashari. Did you try it yet?

ashari

no I haven't altered any codes because I have no idea which code to change. I did add the comics as a paintshop pro image (which the other comics are) and was not able to see them. So now I have changed them to .jpg extensions and I'm trying it out to see if it works. Any ideas?

IchBin

If you're not seeing anything it's probably because your path isn't right. Play with the path setting to see if anything works.

Hi akulion...

This is one of the best mods for my site so far... don kno how to say more :)

Regards.

G6Cad

I want this one to, but with Swedish comics, and with the most boring swedish people, no one will give me the permissions to use the comics they have for free  :'(

greenman

Pretty cool..

Is there any way of making this into a "Comic Strip of the Day"?
I know it's not that simple to, but would be perfect if there would be a way.

greenman

Awesome, thanks! :)

I used the bigger script because the simple one you need to input the filenames of the images to be used.

Works perfect. ;D

arrisje

Love it. Got it on my forum :) Thanks.

Reality12
