jump to block on frontpage

Hi

I would like to put a "jump to" selector box in the left column of my front page at

sucksbigtime.com

so that users can go into topic posts straight away, without drilling down.

anyone know how to do this and might like to help me, or direct me to a post that may give some background to making menu items or blocks.
