TPShout - or Shoutbox - is a built-in module for TinyPortal that is in fact a box in which you can leave messages for others to see and thus maintain a simple "chat" on the site. Combined with permissions you will have much freedom in who can participate as well.

When you setup a shoutbox, there are a number of settings that control how the shoutbox works and how it is displayed. There are some settings that you can make in the shoutbox block itself (alllowing you to have different displays of the shoutbox in different blocks) and there are some General settings. These apply to ALL shoutbox blocks throughout the forum.

The general Settings for the Shoutbox can be made from the TinyPortal Admin screen, found via menu "Tinyportal > Manage TPshout"

When you enter the Admin screen, you are presented with an overview of shout messages in all shoutboxes. In this screen you can edit or delete shout messages in the shoutbox.

To go to the settings page click the [Settings] button.

Here you find all general settings relevant to TPShout.
