Well, as i`m bored today, i think it`s time to be brave. I`ve backed up from smf and from my c-panel. Now i think i`ll try RC2   :uglystupid2:

One question though. Will RC2 overwrite everything inc TP? I need to know this as i can`t remove any mods, due to a balls up in updating to smf 1.0.6. If it all overwritten i`ll go for it.

PS i`m not too worried about any other mods i have.

Paulie

Well the upgrade went ok i think ;) but i have this on the bottom of my screen now

Fatal error: Call to undefined function tportal_version() in /home/hamburg/public_html/SMF/Sources/Load.php(1607) : eval()'d code on line 409

Should i just download the latest version of TP and upload it?

Paulie

#2
Tried uploading 8.6 and now get this

Database Error
Table '********_SMF1.tportal_settings' doesn't exist
File: /home/hamburg/public_html/SMF/Sources/TPortal.php
Line: 80

Your tables weren't created in the database.

Did you install via package manager? were all the "tests" prior to install successful?

edit - yes, do try the manual install...

crip

After manual install - Run TP_zip via package manager..Again.

Paulie

Can this be done via c-panel?

Paulie

crip

download all TP files to get the manual_install.php

crip

Looks like you got it buddie. :)

Paulie

Yeah i think so. I`m just running through it now. To be honest manual seemed easier than i thought. just unzipped and threw the whole folder at my ftp straight into the root.

crip

I always like manual better, "if" package zip errors 1st. :)

kai920

I thought manual install you have to do a bunch of search & replace?

Paulie

Nope, well at least i didn`t. And it seems to have worked ok.

crip

Manual install has a install file: manual_install.php
