I have a fresh 108 install and tried to put the latest TP in and this bit has me stumped. The index.php~ I can not find?
copy(/home/*******/public_html/index.php~) [<a href='function.copy'>function.copy</a>]: failed to open stream: Permission denied
File: /home/*******/public_html/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1307
Permission error, or have you removed the backup index.php~ ?
i think it may have been lost but can't find a replacement
You can go for the manuall install package.
Download the package from the download section and extract the files and upload them manually to your forum
Then download the premade files from the sticky post in this very board and upload them to to your forum.
Then point your browser to the manual_tp_install.php and your forum and portal should be there.
I have tried all this and still get the same error at the end. I have three versoins of 107 running with TP on them. I never had this grief before. package manager is a disaster at installing this. I have done it manually and my DB tables are all their but no TP in my Admin! Feeling low after 7 hours!!!
Upshrink table exists
Settings table exists
Updated version to 095

DL manager table exists
TinyPortalÂÃ,´s table structure is now installed/updated.

Thank you for trying out TinyPortal.
as you see its all been done but no TP
While you may blame it on the package manager I'm thinking its your server with some security settings that is holding the show up. Why don't you update to 1.0.8 and then copy the files over from G6's post stickied at the top. Then run the manual install file again.
I am running 108 and the latest beta version of TP. I have ran the manual install file three times and it all looks ok but no TP in admin panel. Is it compatable with 108?
Got it sorted now. Man that was a drag!
And what was it that worked for you?
To be truthfull I have'nt got a clue! I uninstalled and installed it that much I looked and it was there! The package manager is a waste of time for this. I have to go through nearly every image file and chmod it to 777 which takes forever. I have got it all working eventually but in the Amber theme I can't get the themes/amber/images/post/xx.gif to show, it is set at 666 as with the other images. I can't change the chmod it won't let me. Any ideas please to let me finish this off....... :idiot2: :knuppel2: :uglystupid2: :tickedoff:
upload the images from the default theme to the Amber theme and choose to overwrite the other ones

Well I wouldn't blame the package manager for this. The package manager is doing its job. The problem lies within your server configuration. If your files are being set to a permission that is screwing things up, that is server related not SMF/Package manager related. This is something you should work out with your host. If you can't edit or overwrite a file its because the ownership/permissions aren't set for you to change them. You'll have to tell your host to fix it for you.
Thank you for all your help I will get them to fix it.

ya, it looked like you had the TP tables, but not TP code/files.
