I installed on my test site and have 7 pages of errors.  The first 4 pages has this error:

8: Undefined index: id
File: /forum/Sources/Packages.php
Line: 231

The other 2 pages are these errors repeated:

2: getimagesize(/forum/avatars/http://www.avalanchestyle-test.com/forum/AVS/Cypress_Sm.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
File: /forum/Sources/FelBlog.php
Line: 838

8: Undefined offset: 1
File: /forum/Sources/FelBlog.php
Line: 841

The Blog page has the word 'array' in it, but that is not what I typed in the message.

No worries, that's why I have a test site.   :up:

oh no I forgot Im running 0.9.5c Alpha

To fix the external avatar problem ...

open FelBlog.php and search for:

elseif(!empty($avatar))
{
$ava_url = $modSettings['avatar_url'] .'/'. $avatar;
$ava_dir = $modSettings['avatar_directory'] .'/'. $avatar;
}

replace this with:
elseif(!empty($avatar))
{
if(stristr($avatar, 'http://') === FALSE)
{
$ava_url = $modSettings['avatar_url'] .'/'. $avatar;
$ava_dir = $modSettings['avatar_directory'] .'/'. $avatar;
}
else
{
$ava_url = $avatar;
$ava_dir = $avatar;
}
}

The link must by readable for all (.htaccess)

I think, that help on this.

Whew.

Glad it uninstalled as cleanly as it installed... It's an excellent idea; I really want to have something like this. I'm actually quite eager.

P.S. is the v0.9.5 version of TP with this mod gonna cut back on the number of database queries ?

There is a felblog.english.php in the default theme directory. just make a copy of it and rename it to felblog.spain.php if your forum is in spanish, same works fine here with changeing it to felblog.german.php.

I have updated FelBlog ..

* URL avatar problem fixed
* 'id' in packedmanager fixed (missing ID tag in package-info.xml)
* illegal 'centerblock' fixed
* added uninstall code to remove database changes

Now it works on a fresh TP 0.8.6 install without errors

I get the same array problem when I enable these two features:

Use Whizzywig editor for blogs:
Use Whizzywig editor for comments:

The blogs are just in simple text.

When I go back in to enable the Whizzywig options, then text is there, but anything I do with Whizzywig does not show up, as if it thinks it is in non-Whizzywig mode.

The text in the attachment is supposed to be bold and green color, but it's just black text.

First off, I am glad this mod is finally out. I have been promissing it to my members for a while now and it works great for the most part.

Just a few things that I have noticed with the mod.
1. When I have the WYSIWYG editor enabled for blogs/comments the text does not get saved and arry is the only thing that shows up. This isn't a big deal since most of my members know and use the BBCodes but I think it's a bug and wanted to point it out.
2. I can't wait till you get the "Read" permission in there so I can let my normal members read blogs but not post.

Once again great job and thank you for your hard work!

Yes, it appears to work without the editor.  So, great!  My site's not done, so it doesn't matter, but it might when I start doing guest blogs.

It's great for now. ;)

Anyone getting this error:

8: Undefined index: cannot_showblog
File: /forum/Sources/Security.php
Line: 797

I appears when someone is viewing a blog.

Coincidentally, I got a Yahoo! error code 99 message, which pointed to some security virus/ISP issue.  Not sure if they're related or not.

When I got this code it took about an hour for me to get back into my forum.

Fel

Thank you.  I double checked the permissions and they are enabled for the one I want to have access.  The guest permission on has a check box to enable them rights.  There is no Allow, Disallow, or Deny option.  The guest permission I left blank.

I did a trace on the IP that cause the entry in my SMF log and it traced back to Google.  Guess there's no code to alleviate this error message is there?

Other than that's it's a great mod, thank you!

The Greek translation of Feline' s Blog module for TP 0.8.6 is ready. Just keeping it for refinements.

For translation also a small piece must be added and translated in Tportal.[language].php. It's added in Tportal.english.php with installation.

// --- start FelBlog
$txt['permissiongroup_felblog'] = 'Blog Module';
$txt['permissionname_showblog'] = 'Enable Blogs';
$txt['permissionhelp_showblog'] = '';

$txt['Felblog-1']= 'Show Blogs';
$txt['Felblog-2']= 'Manage your Blog';
// --- end FelBlog

Add it after the last language string definition.

In Greek I get character errors in months and days display in the small calendar, any experience on what happens with other non latin characters languages? Month names in Archive display OK.

Members can't get to blogs page (I can't see anything in permisions except under tinyportal "Manage blogs") I looked for Permisions to View/create blog but no go..
they all report getting an error message

Quotewhen clicking the blog button, i get "An error has occured" and a "back" link.

the url i'vr placed in the menu is http://www.codingmonkeys.com/index.php?action=tpmod;blog

It all seems to work fine for me so it looks like its a permissions issue

BTW everything Installed OK after I replaced the TPortalBlocks template ith the original and the updated blog template file
its ok now.. i had to give them permision to manage blogs .. but no then thats confusing.. because the other things in that area are for admins only really arn't they.. EG: what if i enabled block management or article management by mistake .. wouldn't the membergroups that i added it to be able to edit all the blocks and articles etc on the site incliding turning them off.. If this is true I would suggest making a new area for the blogs settings .. like there is for the dl manager and like other plugins for SMF do

All right, let me see if I can get something straight, because I think I confused myself.

Right now there are only permissions to enable the use of blogs for the individual membergroups.  However, that is the only way for members (and guests) to view the blogs.  So, if I want one particular membergroup to be able to post blogs, right now, the only way for the other membergroups to view them is to also have blogs?

Did I get that right, or did I miss something?

Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.  Installing this package will perform the following actions:
   Type    Action    Description
1.    Extract Tree    ./Themes
2.    Extract Tree    ./Sources
3.    Execute Code    felblog_install.php
4.    Execute Modification    felblog060-11rc2.mod    Modification parse error

any ideas? Thank you

Does anyone else have this problem?

I managed to install the blog, but when writing an entry, it would say "Array" or nothing at all when I publish it.

I done it three to six times. Same problem with the WYSIWYD editor. I turned off the editor, but I don't get any BBC codes or anything on the top. However, I am able to enter info and handcode BBC.

I had the same problem. If you go in and turn off in the blog settings the Wsig(whatever it is called) editor, then type your post it will work. Go to Felines page and she has a fix for it.

Am I better to wait until then and then install it?

Yes, a version for .9.5 has been released, but only in the boards for Alpha Testers, so you can't get to it.

Heres my install info for TinyPortal

TP 0.8.6
SMF 1.1 RC2
Felblog
blacktedR theme(tp version converted by crip)

Link to my above tp test install: www.forums.ccet.in

Now after installing the felblog module, I thought that the blog link should have a link on the top menu (where it says Home, Forum, Profile etc). So I edited the index.template.php and added some code to make have an additional button for blog using the following code.

   // Show the [blog] button.
      echo ($current_action == 'blog' || $context['browser']['is_ie4']) ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $first . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '' , '
               <td class="maintab_' , $current_action == 'blog' ? 'active_back' : 'back' , '">
                  <a href="', $scripturl, '?action=tpmod;blog">Blog</a>
            </td>' , $current_action == 'blog' ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $last . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '';

It worked fine. But now in the blacktedR theme, when you click on a link, say forum, the forum button at the top menu is greyed out, instead of the usual black to indicate "You are here"
But this doesn't happen with the blog link. When I click on the blog link, the Home button remains greyed out indicating that the user is on the homepage (if you didn't understand what I mean, please take the trouble of visiting www.forums.ccet.in to see what I mean).

So how do I get this behaviour to change and the blog button to be greyed out when in the blog section??

This week, I will distribute the new realease of FelBloc for TP 0.86

You can replace the whizzywig editor with the new release in the archive. This include a Image upload. A Help page is also inside the archive.

I think you just download it, and apply it like any other mod through the package manager.
Feline usually do the packages that way.
I have forgot how i did, so it must have been easy = Package Manager.

And it dont replace anything, it ADD a second editor that you enable in timy portal settings :)

you need to enable blogs in the member permissions settings for your site and make sure you enable the blog is setup.  It's all in the help file Feline posted with the blog files themselves.

You show me where the tutorial is and then it will be informative. Right now the only links in the menu are to forums and I'm checking the one page which has FelBlog topics, and none are tutorials with pictures.

Look on the left column where the "Blogs" block is.

Look on the left column where it says "FelBlog" under the "Forum Navigator" - "Modification for SM.." block.

It's all right there, if you take the time to look for it. :)

There is a link to it.

Go to the first page at http://www.xyfrauen.com/

On the front page there is a section titled "Herzlich willkommen bei xyFrauen Support." Below that -- not very far -- there is a section titled "Blog Module for TinyPortal". The "Read more..." link in that second section takes you to the page that Mrs. G6 gave you the URL for.

In the Blog Module block, and then on her articles.

Felblog is no more for SMF and TP, not at this stage anyway.
Feline have stated that she wont update the blogmodule until TP are in a final release, and that can take from 12 to 24 months.
So if you dont know how to do it your self, you would have to live without the Blog module
