Hey Ken. Thanks for your response! The problem is that I do not know what to search to get my answers. Therefore, it is rather difficult to find what I'm looking for on TP website, that's why I start a new topic. But I will try to explain myself better now. You have the image to assume also :P.
If you take a look at my page

- The first thing I need is to have my forum in a separate link. eg it's called "Home" now and I want it to be Forum. And my forum should not be the first page.
- I want my first page with just news.
- Then I need a section called "Downloads" where both I and my members can upload files.
- Then I want so I can put a poll on my first page where all the news is.
All this, I would like it to be at the top of my page as you have here at TP.
So it should be, "Home - where all news is + Polls", "Downloads - where anyone can download and upload ", "forum - where the Forum is".
So when you search on http://www.fmfans.se, then news and poll are on the first page not forum. Then when you press the "Downloads", will take you to a completely new page with only downloads where you can download and upload files. Last but not least, when you press the "Forum", will take you to a new page with all forums.
I hope I have explained myself clearly enough for you to understand what I mean.

Well, the first step to all this would be to install TinyPortal first. Until you have don't that, your Forum will continue to look like it does now. TinyPortal gives you all the options you mentioned , and more.

In addition to what Zar suggested, TinyPortal has a setting under its menu for how the 'frontpage' will be configured specifically. You can select various options which will display the actual forum index itself (as it is now) and/or display recent articles/messages, or set up your blocks to be displayed on the frontpage.
I believe that once you install it and see the flexibility it offers, most, if not all, of what you've inquired about will be solved.

As was said before, the first step is to install TP. The second step is to read the documentation.
The third step is to investigate the program. Go into your Admin area and look at all of the TinyPortal stuff. Try things out. Experiment.
It will be so much more satisfying for you if you figure out how to do stuff for yourself than to have us just do it for you.

Of course, we don't only want people to use TinyPortal, we also want them to learn how to use it and be happy with it as well. In the beginning, there is a learning curve but you soon get past that while you are learning how to use it. It really doesn't take that long. We have have lots of topics here and in our documentation that will teach you how to use it. The first step is the hardest one, but it really isn't that scary.
The most important things to do before installing TinyPortal is to set your Forum to use the SMF default theme and backup your Forum Database. Once you have done that, you simply install TP using the SMF Package Manager in your Admin section. The topic below will give you a little more information about how to do it ...

I will do my best to get this to work. The problem is with me I do not have much patience but I may try to be patient now, I have to! hahaha...
Otherwise I think Tiny Portal seems to be good for me so I can not say that I have any complaints. :laugh:

Once you have completed the TinyPortal installation, you will be able to switch back to your custom theme. The only thing you might have to do is to add a Forum button but we can cross that bridge when the time comes.
You'll be glad that you did it once it's done. ;)

Okay! Yes I gave it a try with the Forum button but could not find a similar code. But as you wrote, we can cross that bridge when the time comes. I must first get TP to work as I want it. I will go straight at it tomorrow night. I inform you tomorrow when I have installed the TP, we see how much help I have time to get. :up:

I have already tried to do it three times but in my index.template.php file it is not as it in your guide that is why I get a little unsure how I should do. The code looks different.

What doesn't work? Tiny Portal? Yes, it does. But you might try backing off a bit.
Start another SMF database as a test. Install TinyPortal. Start learning how it works.

You've done well so far. You have successfully installed TinyPortal 1.0 beta 3. As JPDeni said, a test install of SMF and TP is a good idea where you can learn to use TP without messing anything up on your main site.

As Zetan said, what you need to do is open the index.template.php file for your theme and look for this code near the end of the file. Download that file to your computer and then rename the file via FTP to something like index.template.php.bak and then do the following edits on the file on your computer ...

echo '<li><a href="', $scripturl, '"><span>' , $txt[103] , '</span></a></li>';
and replace it with this ...
// Show the default [home] button.
echo '<li><a href="', $scripturl, '"><span>' , $txt[103] , '</span></a></li>';

After you have made this edits, upload this file to the same location where the file you backed up is located and then try looking at this url again --> http://fmfans.se/index.php?theme=4
If the Forum button is there, then you have successfully added the Forum button. If it is not there, then come back and let us know and we can go from there.

No JPDeni, TP works perfectly. I could not get forum button to work it was that, I mean.
It was exactly what I did before ZarPrime, It did not work. I will try again and if it don't work, I'll show you so you can understand what's wrong. :laugh:

I'm glad you got it sorted, and learn something about how to edit things in the process. :up:
As for adding other buttons, you would basically do the same thing, only change the action. Make sure you always backup the file you're working on in case you mess something up and then you can revert to it and start over.
Something that you might want to consider is to setup a menu block on the left side with things like download and other links that might be necessary. This would keep you from adding too many buttons at the top and cluttering up the top menu.

What is the action actually? What does it mean? In order to change it then i must know what it means or what? ^-^
For dowloads, the action is
?action=tpmod;dl=0
Look at the code for the button you just added. Copy it. Paste it. Change what's needed, following the pattern.
