I have settings and front page set to show arcticles, but my forum shows instead. I'm using 1.0.5 Beta + 1.1.5 SMF :P
Any other info needed just ask // I will say that I did un install the tp package and applied it again because I was testing things out and wanted to see if something would work, but tp just stayed. ?
Another thing what's going is when I go to articles and try to use bbc // I get this:
QuoteFatal error: Cannot redeclare template_main() (previously declared in /home/content/f/s/e/fserna0682/html/Sources/Load.php(1745) : eval()'d code:9) in /home/content/f/s/e/fserna0682/html/Sources/Load.php(1745) : eval()'d code on line 733
it actually seems like nothing is working // I event tried to show forum posts but nothing happens.
Please use the search on your errors and issues, they have been answerd a lot of times allready and should not be so hard to find .)
How can I completely remove TP? So it won't show anything or appear as if it was never installed? I've removed it how I installed it and it gets removed from the packages, but then the blocks still appear? HOW is that?
Get on your FTP delete anything TP related .....Lol
are you serious?
lol..yes were you?
Crip, do you exactly what I will need to delete from TP?
on the ftp, anything that says tp.. tp files etc.,
if you really want to get rid of tp all the way, i suggest to open your db up and find any tp there too
or you could just upload a large upgrade package of what smf version you are using.. that will wipe it out as well.. ;)
Phil, if the package manager is not uninstalling the mod, then there is no other choice than to manually remove the mod. What you need to do is follow the manual install instructions in reverse. Remove any code added, and any files added to your setup. The DB tables for TP can be dropped or left, as it should not matter. Of course, you are also making a backup before making any changes to your site too right? :)
How do I manually install TinyPortal (http://docs.tinyportal.co.uk/index.php?topic=29)

That sounds easier, but I'm using smf 1.1.5 // does this mean to install this again also?

and like ICH says
Backup!!! :D
I'm removing all tp related from the db
great. look what I got.
Table 'OldSchool.smf_tp_settings' doesn't exist
If all is done right, you won't have to reinstall SMF.
Guess I screwed up.
"Table 'OldSchool.smf_tp_settings' doesn't exist"
I get that when I go to my site.
could just add all fresh( Sourses) files overwrite those thats there
You shouldn't remove any DB Tables until you have removed All the code and files from your site.

huh?
he's saying if you upload a fresh set of SMF files, that will over write any mods you have installed, and bring your forum to a new install state.
get the smf 115 zip, unzip & FTP all the Soruces files overwriting thos there.
i quit now B0ss! ;)
you wont loose any forum postings at all Phil ;)

I'll try that.. Sorry everyone.. Just like have had it with all this already. Thanks for all the help.. I'm uploading the sources again right now
Here's what I got.
QuoteTable 'OldSchool.smf_tp_variables' doesn't exist
File: /home/content/f/s/e/fserna0682/html/Sources/TPSubs.php
Line: 271
now in my db with godaddy I did remove that tp_variable
here is what i would do..
stop and breath, you are ok..
go get the large upgrade smf
upload it to your site via ftp
go to the url that is yours and add /upgrade.php onto the end..
then go from there ;)
I think I need a breather ... can u tell i'm like all fucking pist and don't know what to do? i'm like running in the middle of the street with my head chopped off
Pick it up so you can take that breath ;)
I have read through a lot of your posts, some are going well, some are not,
When you upload and replace your files on the server as we tell you, are you SURE the new files actually overwrite the old ones ?
It's strange that you cant get things to work, so im starting to think your files are locked and that they dont get overwritten when you try and replace them ??

I downloaded the file + replaced them via FTP.. I type in my domain + /upgrade.php and get a not found.
if I just go to my domain it's allowing me to install , but I was trying to avoid that.. unless someone can help me restore a database

Normally when ever i overwrite something it does the job by over writing it. I just don't know what's going on .. I've had to restart my forum multiple times and this time I'm not wanting to do so.....so I just want my board back up.
im getting the installer off your site now:
http://www.souloudmusic.net/install.php
did you nmake sure to get the large upgrade?? :o
yeah. I got the large update.
are you talking about the large upgrade for the current version that i'm using? or to upgrade to SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1 Public

Phil, I don't know what FTP client you are using, but I initially used the Windows XP FTP service, and found that it was unreliable. I had some partial file writes where code was missing, which caused many many problems at first- the file names were there, but the required code wasn't.
In turn, I used Filezilla (from www.snapfiles.com), which worked great for me... and I haven't had any FTP-related issues since.
I'm using WS_FTP
looks like I got everything back to normal with that upgrade file..it was asking for the install and then I used my local server host so it can connect to. everything is sill available with forum post's and members, but only thing that I wonder is if the passwords are gonna be fine for the forum members...my password worked fine, but I just hope it does for the rest
good to hear Phil ;) im sure they will be fine.. if you can get on they can too.. :coolsmiley:

Thanks Smoky and everyone else who helped me.
People, people, PEOPLE! Lets do a recap here. First, we have Crip telling Phil to delete anything TP in the FTP. Then we have smoky telling him to delete what is in the database.... Does any of this sound like good complete advice? I submit to you, NEH! It is not good advice. If you're going to do support here you need to give complete instructions and not just part of the puzzle. Lets analyze why...
If going by Crips advice by removing anything with TP in the FTP. What do you have left after that? You have all the files that belong to SMF that are edited by TP. Leaving all the TP code in these files will cause all sorts of errors.
Then we go by smoky's advice to remove the database tables. So now what do we have? We have no TP files, no database tables, and we still have all the code in the SMF files that TP has edited calling for those tables and TP files. Does anyone see a pattern here yet? Smoky touched on the large upgrade package, but didn't give much information after that.
Now comes a post with instructions by yours truly and even with a link to the manual install instructions. I wonder, did you see this post Phil? If you'd had followed those instructions this topic would have been stopped on page 1 instead of page 4...soon to be 5.
From that point on we have a few back and forth posts in which you have errors because of the reasons I stated above. Shorty after this on page 3 we have smoky again giving advice, only this time she's telling you to run the upgrade.php file. This is NOT NECESSARY! If you are running the version already, you do not need to run the upgrade file. The only thing it does is update the database if it isn't already. And since you are running the same version, you do not need to upgrade the DB .
Finally, a good opinion on Filezilla by Ianedres. And it seems your upload didn't go well or you uploaded them to the wrong place. My advice for this, would be for you to keep a copy of the files on your site in a folder where you never touch them. Then if you screw something up and need to replace the files or just a single file, you don't have to upload them again. You can just click and drag them from one folder to another.
My point for this post, was to get everyone to actually post support. Don't just throw an idea out and run with it. A lot of Phils heart ache here could have been avoided. If you don't have the time to post complete support, please don't help until you do have make it complete.

if... but i did say to upload the large upgrade.. depending on what he had done, not that i could see with like xray eyes.. to run the upgrade if needed.. he did not say he was getting rid of tp forever.. I am glad he did finally get it.. and that everything is as good as he wanted.. I was only trying to help..
I know you are only trying to help, but when we have people giving advice that isn't complete it is counter productive to helping the user solve his situation. You only suggested he removed the tables. That is the last thing that should be done, ONLY if it needs to be done. Before posting support, take a moment and reflect on whether other things need to be done first, and if they actually need to be done. I don't mind you helping Smoky, but if you are going to help I need to you to make it easier on the user not harder.
