Nice to see that this beautiful package of software is getting closer to its official realease :)!
Two questions, though: Will it work with SMF 1.1.4 and are there any language packs available yet?
Sorry if you've informed about this somewhere else... maybe? :o
TP will work with SMF 1.1.4 yes, ut not with SMF 2 Beta for quite some time.
There are no language packs made just yet, we got it completed last nigt so no one have had the time to make any translations yet as we moved a lot of things around in them all the way to the end last nigt.
I will however start to make translations as soon as ASAP
Ok, two more questions. Is the former 0.9.8 TP updateble with the new one 1.0 and do the themes that worked with 0.9.x also with the 1.0 ?
Great joke guys :D

Yes it should update to TP 1 while installing.
And to upgrade themes to TP 1 you have to remove all the old TP code in themes except the forum button.
So basically any kinda modifications for Mods that were done to template files, must be removed, right ?
No any modification in themes done for TP has to be removed, not for all mods. And you must leave the Forum button.
Not a funny joke at all in my opinion, and I've actually got a good sence of humor.
joke?? what?? yours isnt working?? hmm i still think i got the best one of all, and it works perfect!! :D
dont you dare take my tp away :knuppel2:
It's even less funny when you try to uninstall it and you get a message telling you:
The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.
Yeah, that's not really all that funny at all.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by that? What just delete the package without trying to uninstall it first?
I deleted it and i have no problems at all. Still like the joke^^
oh my, more bad downloads.. Bloc you really gota fix this err problem.. ;)
and if you really dont want the alpha, just go grab a new install of smf, and fix all the problems.. no more tp no more mods, no issues, and back to un happy cuz you dont have the v1.0 hmm its a win loose thing..
but dont overwrite the gallery, smilie or avatar folders.. you will be just fine.. and can download the right package :coolsmiley:
The install went ok, lost some color and structure when I saw the panels - www.brisbanelionsunited.com
See for yourself and you'll get it.
yep yours looks like mine Christie.. nice job on the install by the way..
i would show mine off, but currently it isnt ready for display yet.. im having an issue with articles.. hmm some are missing after my moving domains.. gota remember i cant keep jumping domains like this anymore, Antechinus wont like it :P :coolsmiley:
TP V1 is a whole new world and you need to rearange your panels, blocks and settings to get it to look like before.
i know G6, and the pannel for the shoutbox is awesome!! did you help Bloc with that?? ;)
very nice job.. i cant wait till im ready to show it off!! :coolsmiley:
Ummm the blocks used to have the color Maroon in the title but now it's white. Did TP V1 change the style.css ?
Havent done a lot to help on TP V1 actually, more chasing errors in the log and dared to use it all the way through my live site :P
Storm and Bloc are the prime coders with this release, storm made/are working on the shoutbox.
The rest of the team do what we always do, run around and dont have a clue ;D :2funny:
no i think its display.template.php Christie.. see if that helps.. ;)
no this admion pannel for tp has your touch G6.. i know you helped with that.. i really like it.. very nice.. mmm i hope to be able to show tg off soon, but i have to go to the doctor, and then the head shrink.. tp gona give me a big head!! :D
I do had some clue, although I am not considered in the team :P :2funny:
Yes. but only to the default theme, all custom themes have to be sorted out to work properly, one way would be to add the TP Style to the Style.css, but if you had any changes in the template files, theres a good chanse they been changed as a lot of template files have been changed totally.
You will have to look at the template system for TP now, it's a lot of new files.
QuoteI do had some clue, although I am not considered in the team
No, your not, but Alpha TEAM are a team that help out with new releases as they know how the new things work ;)
umm here is something else.. is there going to be a fix like that fix for the code and quote mod that is out for the beta, did you guys add that in too?? you did dint you.. :D SWEET!!!! :P
I think it's a color issue only with the blocks that don't show maroon. The forum itself shows Maroon. I checked out display.template.php but of course I have no clue where to look.
umm down at the bottom?? ^-^

I checked display.template.php for my sunset theme and only shows up this...
Quoteif ($context['calendar_post'])
$moderationButtons[] = '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=post;calendar;msg=' . $context['topic_first_message'] . ';topic=' . $context['current_topic'] . '.0;sesc=' . $context['session_id'] . '">' . ($settings['use_image_buttons'] ? '<img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/' . $context['user']['language'] . '/linktocal.gif" alt="' . $txt['calendar37'] . '" border="0" />' : $txt['calendar37']) . '</a>';
if ($context['can_remove_post'] && !empty($options['display_quick_mod']) && $options['display_quick_mod'] == 1)
$moderationButtons[] = $settings['use_image_buttons'] ? '<input type="image" name="submit" src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/' . $context['user']['language'] . '/delete_selected.gif" alt="' . $txt['quickmod_delete_selected'] . '" style="background-color: transparent;" />' : '<a href="javascript:document.forms.quickModForm.submit();">' . $txt['quickmod_delete_selected'] . '</a>';
return implode($context['menu_separator'], $moderationButtons);
}
?>
I doubt this is correct
:o i know!!! Ask Ken!! he is the man to ask on these things :D
Crip might be better. Because he personally converted this theme to use with TP. Now with the upgrade, it seems to me it has changed the old css file or something has not be added to the right file.
yep you might be right.. im sure when Crip sees this thread, he will know what to do.. :D he is smart like that ;)

You guys will need to sort this one out all by yourselves... I'm taking three days off. :coolsmiley:
i have my hands full and then some with pixel.. it is a monster!!! hmm but Crip will be here soon :smiley6600: ;)
I'm lurking but haven't had a chance to even look at it because I'm at work.

Nah, we just know how to break things >:D
oh dear this is getting out of control, I'm hibernating for six months starting now
Ahh Jeez, I have hacked to much code to want to upgrade tinyportal to the new beta...
Thanks Tinyportal Team though :) It sounds good. I will take a look at it tonight and see some of the fancy work in it.
Can we leave suggestions in here. Well here goes anyways.. I really liked now the old avatar was on top and bigger in the user module can something be down to return back.. Aslo the stats module had a better flow because it was somewhat separated into sections. Now the box is kinda one big blob.. lol
Thanks for taking a listen..
The issues with the block titles having different styles is due to use of both old and new styles. So if any theme uses a special class it has to be copied over to the the new styles used.
As for old TP code, you can leave it in, TP 1.0 does not execute the old leftbar/rightbar functions anymore, it fetches leftpanel/rightpanel instead. So it works on any theme, TP-modified or not.
Jason kiDD, thats something the templates could change, as before you can tailor the TPBlocks.template and TPBlockLayout.template for this.
i dont like the joke guys!
Dig deeper TheWrath...
TP 1.0 ?!

Oh geezzez... that sounds gross and disgusting. :P
:buck2:
Will the TP beta work with with the SMF 2.0 beta?
I've been putting off until these two things stabilize, but I'm ready to setup a test site* My nails have all been chewed off in anticipation of these two great products
P.S. whatever ya do, pls dont get away from the "so easy a caveman can do it" approach....I have no choice but to rely on that. Fantastic work guys/gals
TinyPortal (any version) WILL NOT work with SMF 2.0 at this time
did i miss something here or am i to assume this hasnt been made for official download yet?
Yep you missed something alright. :)
ok i give, i dont see it in the dl section?
found it
First post in this thread :)
aint it pretty Tim?? :D
I haven't downloaded yet but I will do it shorthly. For now, I want to congrat all those who have worked on this great addition to SMF. TP is the key ingredient behin all my communities of practices.
Thanks Block
Funny...very funny. And I can't uninstall it, either. Thanks!

I sure did :P
Can't say the same for everyoen else though.
i created this instructions manual.
hope it helps. ;)

new Beta has one of these installed.

very nice addition installed like a charm, now to do it on my live sites :)
having problems getting this to upload with the package manager. says check the directory permissions. however tp 98 uploads fine?
hmm then you might have to do it manually Tim.. ;)
this is what my directory permissions look like now:
Wow, just wow.
ok now that i have actually looked at the files in the folder, all i can say is i am a sucker
TimUSA there is an Easter Egg after installing :)
Except that you don't have to install it. Just read the tp_install.php file in a text editor.
hook line and sinker!
lol dammit i got all exited then ;D hoping it was compatable with smf 2 :D
Y'know it just occurred to me that I missed a golden opportunity. I could have knocked up several free email accounts, registered n00b handles for them here, and then spammed the board up with support requests for the new v1.0 Beta release, making sure to play thick as a brick of course.
Not that would have been an April Fool's joke and a half. ;D
Since it's now April 2, can I get a straight answer: is there actually a 1.0 beta?
If I seem naive, so be it...

Please do not cross post the same question. There is, as Dragooon pointed, out a download that is an early release. There will be an official announcement to come soon. For now it is highly recommended that the April 1st joke isn't used on a live site.
There are still bugs being worked out, but the Team wanted to have a little fun after all their hard work and also offer a real live "demo" so to speak.
Congrats on the real 1.0 release Bloc :)

No need to give the game away ;) :P
I'm sorry if I cross posted (there were two active discussions, so I posted in each one). But let's not get too serious here...this is all a joke, after all, right?
Anyway, I hope you understand that for those of us still learning our way around the software, such "jokes" can be unnecessarily confusing.
I've become a big fan of TP, and like a lot of people here I am very excited about the new release.
Keep up the great work on the (real) software!
Matt
You seem to be the one getting upset, me being serious is trying to explain politely the reason it was done.

Quite
It was a joke yes, but one that required a little more than sitting and laugh. It was very descriptive of how much attention you give the install routine. Those paying attention would see it, others...did not (..)
But the joke is over, life goes on and a new day has arrived. :)
We have removed the "fake" now and the download with it. Since we launched it we have also fixed a few errors which we like to include, so the new release will actually be a small update to yesterdays beta even. Stay tuned.
