how do i set up my blocks on the front page to look like http://www.brutalnet.net
i can't seem to get any blocks to show up. and which block shows the forum index?
Can you provide a little more detail? From the link you posted it does not look like they are using the front page option. But to set up the blocks (and I am assuming you have TP installed) you can do that threw your admin panel under the tiny portal section look for manage blocks. The blocks displayed on that site are left blocks. I would also recommend checking out the docs section http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?board=85.0 To more familiarize yourself with how tiny portal works
Admin/TinyPortal/Settings/Frontpage
Set the What to show on front page to " Go directly to forum index"
Blocks to the left hand side
Admin/TinyPortal/Panels
Set show left hand blocks only to ON, and the others to OFF
Then you place your blocks in
Admin/TinyPortal/Block Manager/ to the left hand side and it will look the same as on the site you pointed to. A forum only with blocks to the left side of it.

ok i did all those and it should be working but it's not.

Thats because you still have the right site and center still set to ON in the Panels settings.
You have to use the LEFT side ONLY.
oh sorry i justy had them on to test if any would work. even when center and right are off it still doesnt work

A matter of fact i do.
As you are not running on a TP theme your site will look the way it does.
You need to have a TP version of the theme to get TP to show.
Another note.
The copywrite for the theme author of Musiconica theme you are running on your forum needs to be put back in.
That theme is NOT copywrited by you or your site as it's a free theme and the theme author of it owns the copywrite.
Please put the theme authors copywrite back in the footer.
ok sorry a member of mine submitted that theme originally just for his default but i decided to use it. i was going to switch to that orange one after i got TP working anyways.
so i switched it to a TP theme and it still seems to not be working.
I don't see TP even installed at your site.
well the admin panel is there for it. when i reinstalled it to test it i got this error:
* Upshrink table exists
* Settings table exists
o Updated version to 098
* Blocks table exists
o Changed pos in blocks table
o Changed pos in blocks table
* Variables table exists
o Changed value5 in variables table
* Articles table exists
o Updated body in articles table
* DL manager table exists
* Shoutbox table exists
Set your forum to use the SMF Default Core theme and English language (Default settings)
Delete all themes exept Default, Babylon and Classic from your theme folder.
Then trough FTP delete the theme folders (except the same i named)
When you have done this, please post back and we go from there.
ok it works on the default theme. what do i do to get it to work with every other one
Do as i said and we take it from there, Delete all the other themes except the SMF default package themes.
When you have done that (also REMOVED the folders through FTP) you find and install the TP theme versions as we have said 3 times in this thread alone now.
i figured it out. i wasnt using the themes from this site. they didnt have the included code for TP
