I went to install tp 9.8 earlier today on my new site. Well the install went great everything installed there were no errors at all, then when I went to look at it I didn't have anything seemed that everything was broken, the blocks were there but the information was blanked out of it.
You can look at what I am talking about at
www.sabnnetwork.org
Also in the admin area I don't have any controls to work tiny portal..What could have caused this I am using a fresh install or smf 1.1.2.....

Looks like some files are missing, just a guess though. You used the full version of .983 and installed through package manager? If its new maybe just delete and reinstall...
I will try that again, I already did it once but nothing happened the same things came back. This time though I think I will delete everything including the smf and then just do a fresh install on it all...
Thanks for the tip...
****edit
Just removed tp and smf and did a FRESH install on both and the same problem is there...
I also added the files that show on the installation...Perhaps this could help anyone who looks at this and might know what is missing.

Same thing happened to me...all weird stuff in blocks and blank in admin for tp...have you resolved it yet..as im willing to find the same answers
Peter :(
Not yet, though I am starting to think it has to do with SMF, because I tried to install some mods and they installed fine not errors and then when I went to find them there were no links in the admin area for them at all...
but I am hoping someone from TP can determine if it is that or what, if we both are having the same issue it might be smf....If you get any answers, let me know and I will do the smae for you...
Try this..I JUST done it..and worked
TP not showing in Admin Panel
Language files, if you have your forum running on utf-8 language, you need to fetch the english utf-8 language package for tp from the download section.
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item756
Extract the zip file, upload the files to your /themes/default/language "place the files here" and refresh the forum
Worked for me ;D

SWEET!
Thanks that worked perfectly, everything is there and running great.....
;)

Hmm, I am having this issue. I see in the admin area where it lists Tiny Portal but nothing below it, no settings blocks etc, which should show up. I'm using SMF english, most recent version and after having configured the site, I don't want to have to do a fresh SMF install. Any other ideas?

Tried what was suggested above but it didn't work.
Hope anyone can help me.
you may have to do a Manual Install.. Please see the Docs section.
That means I have to uninstall Tinyportal first before
doing Manual Install?
You dont need to uninstall Tp before you install it manually.
You can simply comapre the code with the mod instruction in the docs to see what code you need to add.

It's not that bad ManilaGurL and it's a great way to start learning and understanding the code that goes into SMF & TP.
Just take you time and read carefully as you go along... next thing you know it'll be done and then you can say that you did some manual coding to your site all by yourself.
Of course if you're like me and get into a little trouble along the way you can always get help here on TP. :D
Oh and like everyone always says... backup your site before you start!
I always keep at least three copies of any file that is being worked on;
The original on the site that gets renamed and remains on the site in case it has to be put back in place.
the renaming only happens at the moment just before the revised copies are loaded to the site. One copy of the original in a folder on my desktop, again just in case I screw up.
And a work copy of the file where the code changes are made.
Keeping all those extra spare copies pays off if things go bad because you can then just rename the saved originals back to where they were and you'll be back where you were when you started.
this is the only thread I could find in a search that made sense and since I started it perhaps I can use it for my problem....
Alright, I tried to DL the language files needed to fix the same problems I originally had and the reason for starting this thread. But, when I use the package manage to DL them I am told that the file are not files or they have become corrupted, anyone else have this problem? or is their another place I can get the TP english-utf8 files I need to get TP running properly on my forum...
