Title: Flashchat (Members in Chat Block)
Post by: gerrymo on November 08, 2005, 06:01:39 PM
This will show which members are using chat in a php block.

global $boardurl;
echo '
<iframe frameborder="0" height="100" src="', $boardurl, '/chat/info_embedded.php" style="width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>';

The path should be your path to the chat directory (Above it is: /chat/info_embedded.php)
Scrolling can be changed to suit you.

OK, I need some help. I put this in a center block....

<iframe frameborder="0" height="600" src="', $boardurl, '/flashchat/flashchat.php" style="width: 100%;

I think I should not have added the $boardurl

Uhhhhh WOW it works! kinda I just cant to any other part of the forum or admin or anything I click on anything and all I can do is chat....

How brillant! How on earth do I get to the admin to take this off. Can I "turn this off" in the php code? if so what I am looking for.....ARGGGGGG

Thanks in advance :uglystupid2:

You missed half of the code off the end.

This part is missing..

margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>';

Go to http://your domain/path/index.php?action=tpadmin You should see the admin area there. Remove the whole block to make sure everything is working, and re do it with the whole code from the first post. It should then work.

Post by: Greenbug on November 10, 2005, 05:01:54 PM
I AGREE It SHOULD but it doesnt, just keep cycling back to the chat block...not matter what I type in the address line...

Its bad I thinkin

:tickedoff:ÂÃ,  :'(

What is the page where the setting is kept on for this kind of setting, I will manually change it I need to ? index.php, index.template.php, ???.php? I need to manually remove the block. can not get to the admin area at all.

Think you'll need todelete something via the database. I'm no wexpert on that so best wait till Bloc has time to reply. If you cant get direct to admin via action=tpadmin, then I dont know enough about the database to help.

This is s shot in the dark. If your browser has been open since you had this problem, keep hitting the back button until you get to the site, other than that, you'll need somone that knows the database tables.

Now your talkin like me! LOL, I tried that, I even tried just uploading the index.php file and it looked like it worked, then I uninstalled Tp still looked good, then I reinstalled TP and that look ok, but then when I went into TPadmin it came back.....crap!  :'(

Thanks again!

Green, open phpmyadmin, then find the tportal_articles table in your smf database. click it to open it. then click the browse tab. now search for the offending article by finding the title you inputted in the "subject" column of the table displayed. once you find it, click the red "X" all the way on the left of that row. if ya got more questions, let me know ;)

goin to lunch be back in 15 mins or so.

Thank you, I get nervous when you say "phpmyadmin" but I did just now try and the only problem is I cant remember which db it is. I have over 30 and I cant get to the server setting page.

Maybe just upload a new index, like before then check the server setting then I will try it.

Title: Re: Flashchat (Members in Chat Block)
Post by: Moocat on November 10, 2005, 07:08:53 PM
a new index.php file wont fix it, i think. what type of databases are they? why 30 lol? are they all smf?
Title: Re: Flashchat (Members in Chat Block)
Post by: Greenbug on November 10, 2005, 07:13:44 PM
The index file will allow me to see what the DB name is. Then I will work my magic<--Thats funny!

Not all SMF, some joomla, some mambo, some xmb, some gallery, some I dont even know.  I also have two free (open source) dating sites. I am just about finished tweaking with. I'm just having FUN!

I got a little carried away, i know I am seeking help!

The sad part is I have two hosting providers and I have the same over on that host as well. I get a little carried away sometimes.

I do have 4 legitimate web sites I actually sold so, its all justified! LMAO!

I'm goin in, wish me luck!

Ok, so if it works, why not upload repair_settings.php and run it. From that you'll find out which database SMF is running off. Go there using phpmyadmin. On the left column click on tportal_blocks, then on the right click Browse at the tab on the top. This will open the info in the table. Find the block, select it and delete it. this should put you back to what you have before the error. I just did this with my test board and it worked OK.

As long as you got full control back, thats what counts. For this reason I keep a test baord, so if I break it trying something I can either fix it or re-install and lesson learned.

I think you are doing something very worng here. The block is ONLY for showing which members are using chat, not to show the chat window, or anything like that. To use it, create a new php block (left or right), and put the code in it. It should then show you who is chatting, and in which rooms. You dont need any other codes at all, certainly nothing like your latest post. Leave the flashchat codes as they were, they dont need changed.

i put this whole code into a phpblock on the left side (shows up on every page). i've been getting a LOT of CPU QUOTE EXCEEDED messages on my site (which shuts it down for a few seconds)

i believe it's because the block is being called on over and over and over again which causes a lot of cpu usage.

didn't think it was this block until one of my members got:

http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/6004/picture35qi.png

so i disabled it. is there another way to see the members in chat just as easily as this one?

I would love to have a chat status box for Integrated Chat 2.3.

Has anyone done it for this mod?

I tried it using code from my boardindex.template, but it didn't work.  I would just say, 'There are currently people talking in the chat room.' instead of 'There are currently 0 people talking in the chat room' where 0 would change to the number of people actually chatting.

There is a link somewhere that block posted that allows you to show who in the chat rooms. It calls from an Iframe...

Do you mean this whole path - http://www.avalanchestyle-test.com/forum/index.php?action=chat

That path opens the chat session.

Close..., you need to find the location of your "info_embedded.php" file within FlashChat.

Not the chat program itself.

Wondering if anyone uses flashchat AND has found a way to host moderated chat events with it.

By "moderated" I mean spectators submit comments/questions which go to the moderator who selects which ones go on to the guest who then responds.

Spectators comments/questions do not show in room unless approved by moderator and such...  I hope you get the idea.

Any assistance appreciated!

First in your Chat.template.php you have to set the right path to where the chat script is

Make sure itÂÃ,´s the correct path to the chat. If it works from the browser, you have the right link path

// load the chat
               echo '<iframe width="100%" height="500" src="http://www.the url to the Chat/chat/flashchat.php"></iframe>';

Add this in to an php article

global $boardurl;
echo '
<iframe frameborder="0" height="100" src="', $boardurl, 'http://www.yoururl.com/path to flashchat/flashchat/info_embedded.php" style="width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="yes" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>';

And change code in your Boardindex.template.php to this

// flashchat users
echo '
<tr>
<td class="catbg" colspan="2">FlashChat Users</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="windowbg4"><a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=chat"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/english/chat.gif" alt="', $txt[158], '" border="0" /></a></td>
<td class="windowbg3" width="100%"><iframe frameborder="0" height="100" src="', $GLOBALS['boardurl'], 'http://www.yoururl.com/path to flashchat/FlashChat/info_embedded.php" style="width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe></td>
</tr>';

I used to have the Flashchat status in a chat box, but I noticed there was delay when loading the page and even saw some errors in my server error log.

Instead I moved the Flashchat status to the Users Online section with this code in my boardindex.template.php

// "Users online" - in order of activity.

    $chatrequest = db_query("
            SELECT COUNT(*) AS numb
            FROM  smf_fc_connections
            WHERE userid IS NOT NULL", __FILE__, __LINE__);
         list ($chatcount) = mysql_fetch_row($chatrequest);
         mysql_free_result($chatrequest);

if ( $chatcount == "1" ) {
$singularplural2 = "";
} else {
$singularplural2 = "s";
}

echo '
<tr>
<td class="titlebg" colspan="2">', $txt[158], '</td>
</tr><tr>
<td rowspan="2" class="windowbg" width="20" valign="middle" align="center">
', $context['show_who'] ? '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=who">' : '', '<img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/icons/online.gif" alt="', $txt[158], '" />', $context['show_who'] ? '</a>' : '', '
</td>
<td class="windowbg2" width="100%">';

echo '
', $context['show_who'] ? '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=who">' : '', $context['num_guests'], ' ', $context['num_guests'] == 1 ? $txt['guest'] : $txt['guests'], ', ' . $context['num_users_online'], ' ', $context['num_users_online'] == 1 ? $txt['user'] : $txt['users']; echo ', ' . $chatcount . ' User'.$singularplural2.' in Chat';

You have to make sure you edit the part I bold in the code to the name of your database of where your Flashchat is kept.

For the second part I bolded you may need to change that to 'catbg' instead of 'titlebg' depending on what theme you're using.

this code in my index.template.php is showing users in chat on all pages. But how do i center that information ? Right now its aligned to the left !

// The main content should go here.  A table is used because IE 6 just can't handle a div.
echo '
<table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr>';
     $chatrequest = db_query("
            SELECT COUNT(*) AS numb
            FROM  smf_fc_connections
            WHERE userid IS NOT NULL", __FILE__, __LINE__);
         list ($chatcount) = mysql_fetch_row($chatrequest);
         mysql_free_result($chatrequest);

if ( @$_GET['action'] != "chat" ) {
if ( $chatcount == "1" ) {
$singularplural1 = "";
$singularplural2 = "";
} else {
$singularplural1 = "";
$singularplural2 = "mer";
}
if ( $chatcount != 0 )
echo 'Lige nu er der ' . $singularplural1 . ' <font color="#FF0000">' . $chatcount . ' Medlem'.$singularplural2.' inde på chatten!</font>';
}

Please help me center this because it looks stupid when it all the way to the left  :P

This will show which members are using chat in a php block.

global $boardurl;
echo '
<iframe frameborder="0" height="100" src="', $boardurl, '/chat/info_embedded.php" style="width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>';

The path should be your path to the chat directory (Above it is: /chat/info_embedded.php)
Scrolling can be changed to suit you.

Hi,
I am new to TP and I do not know code.  I tried adding this to a phpbox and I can't get it to work.  I have tried changing the file url a coulpe of ways and still nothing works.  I get a page can not be found error.

I KNOW it's something I am doing wrong.  I would greatly appreciate the help!

This url works for the info_embedded.php

http://www.realityrewind.com/Chat/info_embedded.php

and this is exactly what I have in the phpbox.

global $boardurl;
echo '
<iframe frameborder="0" height="100" src="', $boardurl, '/http://www.realityrewind.com/chat/info_embedded.php" style="width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>';

in your path you need to remember to spell chat with a capital C

it should be Chat not chat ... so thats why it wont find your file  ;)

Thanks for the help, I copied and paste just what you had into the box and now this appears in the Who's Chatting box (I got a similar error with one of the many combinations I had tried earlier)

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/whatsgot/public_html/Sources/Load.php(1733) : eval()'d code(35) : eval()'d code on line 3

I really wish I had a clue what I was doing LOL

i am no php coder so i really dont know what that is.. but why not just use a html or a script block and put this in it

<iframe frameborder="0" height="100" src="'http://www.realityrewind.com/Chat/info_embedded.php" style="width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>

I really appreciate your efforts to help me figure this out!  I tried that in both a scriptbox and an htmlbox, both came back with Page cannot be found.

I am obviously not a coder and barely know enough to change things with EXACT instructions, but it makes no sense to me that it can't find the page when I can put that url in my browser and it pulls it right up.

Thanks again for your help!  I am off to bed, maybe things will make more sense in the morning :)

The text in the block is default black. I wanted to change the color to white becauase i have a dark background.

The text from the chat script is in that file. Its not controlled from TP from what I can tell. You ask the chat script people how to change the color?

This code only calls their php script in an iframe. Only someone with flashchat installed could help really. You may want to look over at the flash chat site for someone who has maybe asked for such a thing.

Just to add a note to this, Flash Chat users with SMF sites are known to be hacked pretty bad through the flash chat script, so be careful using the flash chat mod on your site and integrate it.
