Ok I know this has been asked before, but I am basically on hold till an answer or another route is taken. Is TinyPortal v0.9.7 available now, or will it be coming real soon? I am on hold on progressing with a client site. The other versions TP offer does not work on Simple Machine 1.0.9 version. I am looking to install the TP with SMF and looking for a Blog to work with it. The Version of SMF 1.0.9 is not compatible with the Blog offer in the SMF Mod site either.
Should I drop a version and install the SMF 1.1 RC3? This will allow me to at least install a TinyPortal and the Blog, plus gallery using this version. Or Should I just wait a little longer?

I am looking at converting my site to SMF and using TP, the only thing is there are lots of diff version to use and work with, so my question is what version of SMF and TP should be used together for a stable site creation, thanks for advance for any suggestions
well the only SMF which can be considered stable is 1.0.9
however ive been using the RC (release candidate) series with no problems at all since a year now and so has a huge bunch of other people
so personally i would recommend 1.1rc3 with tp0.96
keep in mind however TP is a beta software still but stable enough to use :up:
also u will probably ask this after u install it - nope the gallery, links and teampages have not been implemented yet - those are just dummy links lol

Ok thanks for that does that mean that SMF and TP does not come with some sort of album or links? And what is teampages?
When you install, in the Tinyportal administration, there are options to switch on "gallery" "links" and "teampage" modules. The backend is there for them (ie in the admin) but they dont actually exist in any usable form yet.
Teampage, Gallery and Links are all available as mods currently for SMF - I use them and they do the job fine
but in the future they will actually be incorporated into TP by bloc but no one can say when TP 1 Final is released

I find myself asking though why someone would be stupid enough to put up a Download button labeled 0.9.7 which doesn't work, and wont work for an unknown length of time, without even putting a notice next to it "coming soon".
Imho, the button doesn't have anything to do there at all, there is no 0.9.7 for download, all it does until sometime in the unknown future when 0.9.7 is out is confuse and annoy people. They actually have to go to the forums and search just to find out why the download button doesn't work.
It's not stupid to the owner of this Forum and TP.

Ahhhh, if i could i would have pat your back and help you get over the "humor" part.
To bad you have to feel that way for things you get for free on some one elses time and hard work. Pitty Bloc have to share it with people like you that only come here and complain about the developers site to. If I could, i would have helped you become the leaf right now.

I totally agree, just reading that it is an insult to Bloc.
Why would one not come to the forum and read anyway. There may be things that need to be explained in order for the download to work properly. One does not just install something then come and say "oh by the way, how do I do this, or hey the download did work right when I installed it".
No one comes and reads to be sure that the product is working correctly and that no special install instructions are need.
Bloc works hard to insure that his Tiny Portal is as bug free as possible and works as it should to enhance ones site.

Please, someone send me the beta. I saw that 0.9.7 was out so I proceeded to upgrade my forums, and then realized that the download wasn't active. Now I've been waiting 2 hours refreshing the main page to no avail... Would be a lifesaver to have the beta now.
the beta is not released yet only the alpha version to the tp team

I will apologize for anyone who feel my comment is disrespectful. It was not my intention to offend anyone.
I still think my opinion is very valid. It's the equivalent of false advertising, even if it's for a free product. I enjoy TP very much and have a lot of respect for Bloc's work, but i very strongly disagree with putting misleading information like this on the front page.

Why should it be required to search the forum to find out why the main download button on the front page is inactive and 0.9.7 which is advertised on the front page for download, is not even in the download section. Why mislead people in the first place?

To the TP Team, What yall have done is a labor of love and are willing to share this with any and everyone interested. My hat is off to each and every one of YOU!
As far as the download button that has someone has gotten crossthreaded over, I have clicked that button about 4000 times. I click it everytime I come to the site and before I leave. Its no big effort to try and I'll keep clicking until I get what ever this new upgrade will bring.
