yes, what i noticed so far is that some fonts look different in many themes ???
also center block is displayed wrong. if you have the center block with 2 columns, the left col is streched too much
There's a fix for all these problems, DON'T USE CRAPPY BROWSERS! ;) Seriously, I wouldn't expect much on the IE7 support for some time from all the theme designers.
Exactly what im doing. :) I simply don't use IE lol.
There are always some differences when viewing different themes via different browsers
Even with scripts, css and dhtml
It sucks and is the result of these browser wars going on.
really they should set 1 law for design interface on the net and force browsers to follow it so it saves us the headache :P
Make it law, that if your browser isn't 95%+ compliant to the standards then you shouldn't be able to release the browser product.
IE7 is something I haven't tried yet lol...I flat out refuse to update to XP just to try it. I like my quick win2000 too much. :)
Although i have sniffed on trying out a bootmenu with multiple OS..especially as I now have aquired a 250 gb harddisk. :)
my problem was not really IE7 specific. i found out, that leviathan theme does not wrap too long links. a member posted a link in our forum without usind the [url]-funtion and the link was very long and in the front page this link wasn't wrapped so left column got wide

may be it is the wrong topic but leviathan has one more problem, if you click in admin section on the help buttons at each permission you get a pop-up with black font on black background

Another option would be to get VMWare Server version. It's a free download. I use it for multiple OS testing all the time. Even used it to tryout the Migration of my old PostNuke/pnPHPbb to smf/Tinyportal conversion on a export of the live site before I did it. Really helped. Worked through 3 eveings at home, found all the gotcha's with doing it, and was able to upgrade the live site in about an hour and a half.
Which is why I'm now here, as a Happy SMF / Tiny Portal user ;)

Indeed Bloc. What I have here at work is my hard drive split in half. One half for XP and the other for Ubunto Linux. I load up Ubuntu when testing out web server and file server application problems or features. This is only ideal if you really wanna nerd out like me. :)
You can use virtual PC to test out just about any linux distro and windows. I think its free now. Its really easy to setup.

Oh yeah. Absolutely. Not just on the same machine, but actually have them running @ the same time.
I think the Microsoft software reference above won't work on 2000 Workstation (Requires server version, but I could be wrong.) The VMware software will work with 2000 workstation though.

The MS software will work on 2000 workstation.

VMWare is a pretty good chunk of money to purchase it. And for your refernce, the free beta 2007 VirtualPC also supports linux.

Why buy it. The Server version I linked Bloc is Free. :) Has been since the Day Microsoft started giving away Virtual PC. The Enterprise ESX Version is the one that is BIG $$.
Of course, we really don't need to 'fight' over which one he uses, since both will do the job he really needs to do, he just needs to download one and play with it. I don't think I ever said that Virtual PC wouldn't run linux. I just wasn't sure which MS OS's it required as it's host OS.
Either way it's all good, since we as users 'Win' if he can test with more clients.

I have no problem viewing any of the themes in IE7........... now FF & FF2 - they don't view well. :-X
IE code reading is quite sloppy, and it allows too many mistakes to get through. I think that FF is closer to strict html standards.
Trouble is that most ppl use IE, and most ppl try to code for IE - and hence make it hard for compliant browsers such as FF to properly display everything.
Generally though, if you know what you are doing, you can make some code that will display well in both IE and FF.
I generally work only with FF..but test stuff in IE/Opera afterwards. So if any theme do not display well in FF, I want to know what. In IE too of course..I already aquired some general css that has to be there..in order for IE to make it right. :P
