i guess the file uploads but it says

when i go to dl the zip look try to dl the file http://www.potbot.sectorhost.org/smf/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=get4
is there a code i can put in .htaccess that makes this dl the zip?

when i link teh file dirrectly it downloads
http://www.potbot.sectorhost.org/smf/tp-downloads/l2uthless_Chat_v1.03.zip
but when php links it, then it goes to the pk box box box thing

Sounds like PHP isn't sending the proper headers or something. I'm not sure how to fix it. You may want to ask your host.

mabie cuz of the banner add on the host? is there a workaround on banner add hosting to download files

not sure i been editing the header and no luck anyways i tried force downlod

header as in the configuration of your PHP install. Not the actual header of a file. You may want to check with your host.
