Actually, you became a beta tester when you registered on this site.

However, the beta version of TP 0.8 hasn't been released yet. It is still in the alpha stage. And as IchBin pointed out, Bloc has a group of Alpha Testers whose job it is to find the major bugs so that they can be fixed before it is released to the Beta Testers.

The largest issue with the Alpha versions is that these versions CAN break your website! For example, when Bloc released the ver 0.8 Alpha to the Alpha testers, there were major problems with the Menu Manager, and with PHP articles (i.e. they were broken). These are things that could break your site and make it not work at all.

Please be patient. Bloc is very close to having finished and being ready to release the 0.8 Beta to you guys.

Take your time Bloc..  While I know that we're all anxiously awaiting the release of .8, I'd much rather have something stable to install than have you rushed into releasing possibly buggy code just to appease the masses.  Your hard work is definitely appreciated here..
