Ken.

i-r-2-bad for words!  :coolsmiley:

Drove by most of the cars on the track... not bad for a great-grandpa.

SWEET! That is awesome! Is that the fastest you've ever drove? Got any pics this time?

And you finally did get a chanse to drive. Congratulations Ken  :D
Was it anything like you expected it to be ?

Ken.

It was great!  ;)

The event was held at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC which is one of the premier NASCAR tracks and this company, Racing Experience, had their act together, unlike the last one that I attended.
Snap-On tools was the host company and is considered by many to be the top mechanic's hand tool company here in the US and that had everything to do with the fact that a quality driving experience company was hired to put on the show.

The way this one worked was that you were the driver and an instructor was in the car with you to make sure that you hit your marks, took the correct likes on the track and... that you went faster.
The cars were setup to max out at about 168mph on this track so 164 was an OK speed for me to reach.

In my 10 laps I got pasted once on my first lap and then after that I went past about half of the other 6 cars on the track with me.
A couple of pics are attached... gots a video, but it has to be converted from VCR to digital so that will be a while.

Oh, here's a good part... as part of the drivers meeting & orientation they load you in a van and cruise around the track to show you all of the points.
The van was a 12 passenger Chevy van and the instructor went 4 laps around the track at 120mph (90-95 in the turns), now that was an 'E' ticket ride!

It was fun and I would do it again... but only if someone gives me another free ticket because the cost is $575.00!!! Thanks go out to my son Joel and his Snap-On dealer Brian for the free ticket that was used for this one.

I'm ready to go again...  :2funny:
... I drove car #21.
