Hi Guys .....

It's been a while since I've updated my board.

I am going to be updating today, and would like to know if I should uninstall 0.86?

Or should I install 0.9.8?

Thanks
Rod

Uninstall is a better way to go, so try uninstalling and go from there.

rodman

Will that affect or remove the custom blocks I have already?

G6Cad

Nothing will be removed as it's stored in the DB and not in the files you replace.
So all of your content will still be there after the upgrade.
As a side note, all the content will not be VISIBLE direclty as there are some layout changes between the versions, but you just have to rearange the "PANELS" that holds the blocks so they are where you want them again. But no content at all will be lost.

Thanks for your help ... I appreciate it sooo much!

How can I verify that they are stored in the DB rather than the files I replace?

The only time I have ever made a change to a block was through the Tiny Portal>>Block Manager

you can verify by taking our word for it lol. Seriously though, TP doesn't even have an option to store block/article info any where but the DB. But I suppose you know to always backup before you make changes on your site?
