Ok, I won't mind if this thread is merged, deleted, moved...whatever the admin and/or mods decide.... ;)
(I've searched all over Tinyportal and SMF-Community and I sincerely haven't found any clue how to solve this, however I've seen several threads with ppl having the same trouble)
I'm running SMF 1.0.8/ TP 0.95  :up:
I'm having problems with Who's online, it shows only my nick as viewing the site (I have just one user registered...so I cannot say I have hundrer of users) but I've asked some friends to enter my site and it has not changed....
I've added the statsbox (learned it from searching  :coolsmiley: ) but still nothing...
Is there anything I can do??  :'(

Ps: I apologise for not finding the solution myself by searching....I truly haven't found anything  :( :laugh:

*edit* I have the GoogleBot and spiders mod installed...I hope it'll work too!!

akulion

try this and tell me the results:

create a block on ur site (a PHP block) and put in it:

ssi_whosOnline();

and then activate the block

Thurnok

I just went to your site, and I see two user names online.

akulion

Problem solved!!!

it's not who's online today (maybe that's the one you saw with two names...it's who's online (right now)

This is the code I'm using.  It shows and icon as well.

echo '<a href="'.$scripturl.'?action=who"><img src="'.$settings['actual_images_url'].'/icons/online.gif'.'"  /> <b>'.$txt[158].'</b></a><br>
<span class="smalltext">';
ssi_whosOnline();
echo '</span>';

That's not who's online today, that's who's online in the past xx minutes as set in your admin control panel.

Which also show's who's online now.

well, I'm sure you're right about it....however this doesn't show when there are multiple viewers...it's some kind of log of who's been online....isn't it?
I'm looking for having users, guests and bots who's online....I'm not sure I'm making myself clear  :-\

*edit* does that show when I have guests and bots online too?

*edit again* I've changed the language for you to have a better view of it....

did u ever modify the file SSI.php ?

If not then i think u may need to report this on SMF - since it seems to be an issue with their SSI function

they may be able to shed more light on this

I have no real knowledge of PHP...or any other language, so I did not modify the SSI.php intentionally....so I can't tell....so you say this is a SMF issue?

yeah...well maybe not that accurate...guests...bots and users online...something like that...yeah
Quote from: akulionYup SSI.php file is where the user online info comes from - its totally related to SMF

but then again if u dont find any help at all on smf, come make another post here - maybe someone will come along who will know the solution
Ok, I'll try over there then..

Thank you all guys...you've been all very kind and helpful!!!  8)

it's really annoying, isn't it? lol
it's from this stats counter....I did not know it had a pop-up...but their service is really cool  8)

akulion

if u want a counter try amazingcounters.com free and no popups

if u want site stats in details try http://www.google.com/analytics/

its the best there is

ah.. SMF 1.0.8 ---  Sorry, I'm not sure if SMF 1.0.8 had a setting for xx minutes in admin control panel - your site says in past 24 hours.  Someone else may know that.

the ssi_whosOnline() function should report the same info as your bottom bar.
