What the hell is going on here i ask myself. I got 8800 page views today on my stats

lol yeah maybe, but today is more than a usual month for me. I did notice a guest from the USC campus lurking pretty much all day though. Going through the recipes.

It could be a bot to thats crawling the site, i have had some major hits one or two times to, but those were bots from yahoo and google crawlinge arround every where

Nope, not bots. I got the bot mod running so i can see the bots when they lurk lol

Mmm, not much is it? One of mine had 460,000 hits between midnight and mid day yesterday. 1.18 million page views (figures from our server engineer). The engineer shut the site due to the load.

Turned out to be a Turkish IP addy, trying to DDOS us.

Yes, but the kiddie reponsible didn't even try, or didn't know how, to cover his tracks. Our engineer has his home IP addy, and has reported it.
