Hi guys.
My web site is http://forumkavkaz.com
Forum is on utf-8 (Russian), but I'm in Georgia.
This forum indexing well, but I cant see in google searching engine article names from Tiny portal (first page).
Any mistakes in my settings?
Thanks.

I see at your site that you have two spiders from Yahoo and a few from google, so they are spidering you and you should be positive about that, to find your site on the search engines, will not be so easy... unless you search for the title of your site and or the URL of that site. other wise it's like finding a needle in a sand storm.

Even those paying for ads, have a hard time getting good placement in them search engines. the key is having right content that the public or your community target types are looking for :)

Why did I not learn Russian?  :-\

regards,
Maxx

The titles which are inside the forum categories and name of topics google search engine finding well. I mean that titles of articles which are located in TP, are not presenting in google search engine. I can't find them in google. As example, I have other web sites, but there is no such problem there.

sorru for double post, but more strange is that the texts from articles in TP google indexing and I can find it easy, if copy and short text from the begining of article and paste it to seracing. It's ok. But title of article -no. Can't find in google.

Google is the one that decides what title they will display in their search results.  According to their help page, they pull it from the page title, meta tags, and even the content of the page. Nothing guarantees that the title will be what you want to make it.

Yes. may be you r right. I think I found the reason, which may help. Is it possible to make any update for TP, which will put the title of article in appropriate browsers tab name? picture example: http://foto.forumkavkaz.com/upload/fbb67e46a35438bbe510f2d763fd37a8.JPG
As I see, google indexing titles if it's reflecting here as it's shown by red arrow.

TP already does this by default. Looking at your site, (sorry I don't understand your language) but I can see that the article title is appended to something else in the tab. But it is a very long title.

For example article title is in bold:
Quote<title>kavkaz Кавказ Форум Политика на Кавказе Информациионный Портал Форум Кавказа Caucasus Forum Информационный Центр Тбилиси Грузия  Кавказский информационный сайт - Мыльный пузырь - Россия</title>

Something else on your site must be adding the additional text, because as far as I know TP or SMF is not doing this. Unless you've added a mod or something.

You are right, that was something which add extra words. This was in smf server settings -Forum name. Now it's all OK, except one "dash" symbol which is adding before each name of article in TP: http://forumkavkaz.com/index.php?page=318 .

Just update: is ok. as I see "dash" is nothing for google.

IchBin

The only instance that TP adds the dash is when you are in the TPortal admin section, or on the article print page. I would guess that something else in your SMF install is adding that character.

yes, seems so. will be more attention for to capture and fix this reason. attempts to found it, did not get results now. ))
If something positive, I will reflect info here.
