I completely blew my forums away, because I couldn't get TP to work correctly
I reinstalled SMF1.1 rc2
Created a new database with a different name.
Installed TP 086
Updated
Installed 1 theme
Everything looks great
But.... there is always a but..
When I try to create or ad an article, I get this error

Field 'value4' doesn't have a default value
File: D:\Kevon\Sources\TPortalAdmin.php
Line: 321

The same error I was getting last time I installed TP
Which would lead me to believe, with a ,good bit of certainty, that I have once again messed something up.
Oh, and when I click "new" in TpAdmin, I get a pretty little CHI error,

The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

everything else about the forums is working without a problem
I just can't seem to get TP to work
I would truly appreciate some assistance, I'd love to use TP
but I'm about this close >< to just giving up out of frustration.

thanks

I'll let you admin into the site and the server if need be, whatever it takes to get it running correctly

Thanks in advance,
Kevon

Did you install the uppdate package to after you installed TP ?

If you havent, go to the downloadsection, download the update package for 0.86 and replace the files, and try if it helps

kevon

The first time I installed TP I didn't this time I made sure I did
So... yeah, Upgraded and unfortunately, it didn't work

Shoot, I didn't even touch the forums until I had updated :/

WebMasterZ

well line 321 refers to the shout data in the db
whats in your smf_tp_variables table?

Is that theme tp 0.8.6 compatible?

I can take a look if u like, pm me

Hey man wanted to thank you for your help.

A quick update as to what happened and how it was fixed (still a couple errors, but I can live with them for the time being)

I have 2 servers, 1 web and 1 db
Both windows 2003 server, IIS 6
The db server ONLY communicates with the web server, all usernames and passwords are the same.
MYSQL 5
When I installed TP, package AND manual, it created the tables in my db
unfortuanately that's all it did, just created a completely empty table.
G6 was kind enough to send me an export of a freash TP install database,
I exportd the mebers table from my current DB and deleted it,
Created a new DB, imported the data that he sent me, inported my users and connected smf to the new database,
Oh my, I couldn't believe what I saw when I clicked on the TP manager area, there were like... options and stuff in there.

No idea why it did that, only thing I can think of is that any application worth its salt hates windows.
I can accept that.

That's what we had to do to get around it
TP is now running and I am a happy man.

Check it out,

I still have a few things that need to be edited and added and what not, I could probably use a few more members, but no bother, I learned a lot over the last few days. w00t

Thanks :)
I'm still getting an "expected object" error in the admin section, just haven't had a chance to look and see what object it is expecting and where the booger actually is.

They've kept me rather busy at work this week... I mean when do they expect me to work on my site?
When I'm at home
I THINK NOT

This is turning in to an actual job, I either need a raise or find a place where I can goof off all day.

WebMasterZ

Just had a quick look didnt see anything, where/when does it occur?

kevon

You know, after posting that, I decided to go look to...
and... it's not doing it now

Although clicking on the "news" link in the TP settings give me a CGI error pretty quick
I wish the rest of the site came up as fast as that error page ha
