Articles in a category block help
« on: March 04, 2020, 10:32:14 AM »

Link to my forum: http://www.massillon.com
SMF version: 2.0.17
TP version: TinyPortal 1.6.5 © 2005-2020
Default Forum Language: English
Theme name and version: Modified version of Inverted by Crip
Browser Name and Version: Microsoft and chrome
Mods installed: TP, SMF gallery lite, 6 custom buttons
Related Error messages: none

So basically my problem is this...  No matter what I change in TP it seems I can't limit the number of articles in a Articles in a category box, change the order, nor can I find any way to try to make them more separated so they are not just a pile of words on top of each other.

Any advise or is there a more customizable block code I could use to achieve this?

So far I found a suggested code for PHP in the built in suggestions that helped with the listing.  Still can't get it to change the order (newest first vs oldest first) or limit the number of articles without manually moving them to an archive and adding an order value (in reverse).  That's at least workable though.

The standard block functionality is pretty limited as far as I can see.

There are no variables defined for number of articles, sorting of layout.
This can be done, but takes some thinking.

What suggested PHP code are you using now?

If you post it here we may be able to give some sort of solution...
