Here's something I thought would work great with forums that have a lot of sections/categories.

Most forums have a latest posts block on the front page that shows about 10 - 15 of the latest posts made throughout the forum across all boards. I was thinking of separating the latest posts into a few blocks, with each block showing the latest posts from a chosen section. Then I figured instead of the forum admin choosing which sections are shown on the front page, it'd be great it each member can choose which "latest posts" blocks from which section show on their front page - basically a customised front page for each member which will stay the same after a logout/login.

e.g. a hardware enthusiast will choose the "hardware" section latest posts to show on his version of the front page. A console gamer will choose the "consoles" section on his front page, etc.

This can happen for other blocks and front page items as well, according to how the forum admin wants to offer customisation.

Apologies if this has been suggested before, a quick search didn't bring it up. Thoughts on this?

Sounds like a great feature, but it requires storing the choices made by members. I don't see TP doing this by default, is its more a SMF mod, where the profile screen will need to have a extra screen for which boards - much like "ignore boards" mod/feature.
