when I enter twice in a html article, this shows after saving the article.

This happens also after a double (or more) space between words.

I get the same thing on my website, and its also shown at some other sections like menus in the theme I am using, Andromeda.

SMF 1.1.10
TP 1.0 Beta 4

denis

It happens to me also. I delete them and they did not reappear. At least till now

bloc

I cannot reproduce this. Does it happen with specific browsers or special characters?

This happens after saving the article with internet explorer 7. I did not yet tested it with other browsers.

My default language setting is Dutch utf8
But also if I change the language setting, this happens.

I have some too. But this site does not even have tiny portal. My site with tiny portal does not have any.

vortodox

This thing happens to only on articles when I save them.
I fix it by editing article after I save it. Just erase it in HTML, and it should be alright.

wildenborch

That's the way I change it as well.
But it need to be fixed in the editor!

I noticed that this bug is still waiting for feedback. Who's feedback?
I already gave mine.

Maybe this could also be of help. I have TP also installed on my local windows machine and then I don;t have the strange .
All my sites with the problem are unix / linux hosted sites.

bloc

"feedback" as in confirmation others also experience this problem. I haven't checked this recently though(no new reports here or in alphatester board)

wildenborch

OK I see

I have this problem with 3 different hosting providers.
All on Unix/linux machines.

Shall I create a test site for you on one of those machines so that you can check/try yourself?

bloc

Well, sure. But this site is also on linux servers, and I don't have that problem...do you use a special charachter-set? utf8?

On the other hand, this bug may have been solved in beta5, I changed a LOT of code from beta4 to beta5. I can't pinpoint exactly what could cause this though, otherwise i would backport it.

wildenborch

I use English UTF8 and I just changed it to "normal" English but with the same strange result.

I will wait for the next release.

wildenborch

Hi Bloc,

I have installed version beta 5 and the problem with these strange characters are gone now. I can now place several spaces or enters without seeing the after saving the article.

G6Cad

Great !!  Then i can put a solved mark on this topic and Bloc can close the bugreport :)
