I am attempting to set permissions for user groups to submit articles.

When I access the "Submissions" page, it is blank and there are no groups listed.

Ideas?

Hi Wilbilt,

Welcome to TinyPortal.

It's somewhat difficult to answer your question because we don't know what versions of SMF and TinyPortal you are using.  Any time you post a new topic, you should Please Read and Follow the Posting Guidelines, so that it will be easier for us to help you.

However, in the latest TP beta, there are a few bugs that are being worked on for the next version of TP that concern article submission by membergroups and these fixes may solve the problems you are having.  You may feel free to look through the bugtracker at any time to see what the current bugs are and there may be something in there that will be solved in the next version.  If you go to the bugtracker and do a search for "submit" you might find a few bugs related to what you have mentioned.  The bugtracker is located here if you'd like to check it ...

The submissions page is where you approve articles that are submitted by users who don't have permission to approve. To edit article submission permission you need to edit the user group in SMF.

At this time (unless I'm missing something) ALL articles must be approved, event those whose submitter has been granted permission in the SMF permission page ("Submissions are always approved" checked).
As ZarPrime said, there are still some minor bugs, and this must be one of them.

Thank you! That was the issue. I was looking for the settings to be on the "Submissions" page, as it says "Decide who can submit articles" at the top.

BTW, it is SMF v 1.1.9 and tp 1.0 beta 4. I will be sure to include version information in the future. Thanks again.

I would like to add that it is possibly an error in the documentation. I thought I had read it somewhere, and I had.

Here it states that permissions for member groups are set on the "Submissions" page.

Maybe someone could correct it, as it is a bit confusing.

Yes, it used to be that those settings were actually on the submissions page. Things have changed quite a bit since then, and we have quite a bit of Documentation that needs to be updated. :)
