Hello. I went ahead with a manual install of TP on my SMF forum per how to instructions found on this site. I did this because I'm using a theme and knew of no other way to get TP on to my forum. After all of the editing of files, I ended up with this message:

Table 'smf.smf_tp_settings' doesn't exist

I panicked and restored all of my original files. All is normal again, but where did I go wrong, and what do I have to do get TP up and running? I'm not giving up yet. Your help is greatly appreciated!

You probably missed to install the DB tables with the manual_tp_install.php file thats included in the manual install package.

Ken.

First thing... you say you are using a theme, which one?

And...
Installing TinyPortal, or any other Mod, should ONLY be done while your forum is set to the SMF Default Core theme.

Hello and thanks for the quick replies! I'm using the Dark Dirge theme, and yes, I forgot to set the theme to the default core theme. I was also a little confused with the last install step. Where can I find the manual_tp_install.php file? Shouldn't it be found on my root directory after install? Is it the file where it tells you that TP is installed and to refresh your forum? I did see that file, but when I clicked on the refresh forum link it did nothing. Thanks again!

File can be found in the download section on the same page as the TP download.

Thanks! So this is the entire package that I need for a manual install and not the standard TP download zip file(s) that I previously uploaded to my server? If so, should I then delete all TP files that I previously uploaded and start over with the manual install zip?? Thank you!

There's no need to delete everything if you're uploading and replacing the existing stuff. The manual install package is all you need as it has the database file you need to run in it. Instructions for a manual install are in the Docs board. Please read it so you understand what it takes to do the manual install.

Thanks my friend! I'll give it another whirl!
