Are there any near-future plans to improve the RSS feed block?

I miss a way to limit number of displayed items and also caching.

Yes there are other solutions like:

But it would be so much easier if things were built in.

There are ways if you use a third party script to do it. rss2html etc.

an RSS to Javascript converter:

I use this one as it's quite configurable.
