Expiring blocks and articles by time, page views, user session

I posted this in the tech support forum but it was suggested I post it here for consideration, so here it is:

How can you expire or make a block disappear after a user has seen it? I have one block that shows most recent posts. I want that to disappear once a user has logged in and seen it once. There is no need to show it every single time he/she goes to the Portal during the same session.

Actually I think it would be a nice feature to be able to expire blocks and articles by specifying either number of views, by date/time, or expire it once viewed per user session, or per day/week/month.

Any thoughts?

It would seem logical to have such options. Currently blocks have access defined and visibility..but not the time factor.

One thing I am trying to avoid though, is too much logging created, which will be necessary to check sessions etc. But based on number of views/downloads/time on a global scale is very much possible.  If you need different ones for different membergroups, just create multiple copies and set the time different for each, for example.

I am thinking to add some macro or grouping functions to blocks and this could benefit from that.
