Customization for front-page blocks

I've suggested something like this in the past, but as I'm learning more about TP I'm able to focus a little more and articulate myself better.

My suggestion is simply this - more customization for front page blocks.  Currently, if they appear at all, they appear in the center.  I would like to have blocks that show ONLY on the front page AND can be set either on the right or left, like other blocks.

You should maybe interested in the feature i have added to v1.0 then: a "grid" system for showing frontpage blocks (or any other blocks for that matter). The frontpage itself also have visibilty options in 1.0 - to show the individual panels or not.
