Is there a Calendar that has time of day abilities. I want my users to be able to see what time an event is scheduled for on the calendar rather than having to read a forum post. If that isnt possible can some one tell me how to integrate google's calendar into TP and remove/disable the calendar link on the menu bar?

Thanks

In the block code and snippet forum (first post you have an index) there is a clock and calendar combo you can use in a scriptblock

dave

I can't preview the 1st clock calendar combo, server is down apparently.
I don"t think it is what I'm looking for.
I want to be able to have an event calendar that shows the beginning and ending times ala Outlook or Google Calendar. I want to use it for scheduling appts etc. and so clients can see my schedule

thanks

That would require a snippet we currently do not have available, unless you can alter some code in one of our PHP Calendars?...

That one looks like it will work. I'll have to get into the TP menu & turn off or change what the Calendar link points to.
Thanks. I think it will integrate better than google calendar

Lesmond

To show you I have also set one up on my forum in a article too, well its the same one, http://www.lesmonds.co.uk/smf/index.php?page=37
Just one thing your server needs to have magic quotes turned on in there php.ini file or it wont work, but I have a work around for that if you need it :)

dave

Thanks. I'm not sure if magic quotes is on or not. I'll check it
I noticed that the Calendar menu button points to the TP Calendar on your site. Are you going to change it so it pulls the new one instead?

That's the calendar program I've used for several years.  It's an excellent program and you can even give your users the ability to have their own private / public calendars as well with it.  It allows you to schedule meetings between users / groups, have both public and private meetings scheduled, and supports accepting/declining meeting invites as well as an approval system.

It's all around the best calendar program out there, from the many years ago when I first started using it, up to and including today.

No because I am only testing that one, but I might  put another link in my side menu if I decide to keep it

Thurnok, it would be if you could link  the user databases though

The product was originally written back in 2000 and was never intended to be part of or integrated with anything.  In otherwords, it is a standalone web application.   At one time I did manually intregrate their product with Mambo - years back, so it is possible, but someone would need to do it for SMF.

I don't particularly have time to do that integration, I'm pretty tight scheduled nowadays, but it is something I might look at in the future given time.  Currently I barely have time to write some block snippets.. hehe

Sorry I hope you dont think I was asking you, I was just talking out loud as they say :)

Thurnok

nope... didn't think that.. just saying it might be something I might look at doing in the future, given the fact that I use the product.  Just might be a long while however before I look at doing something like that...hehe

Thinking is dangerous...

Thanks for everyone's input. I dont know php well enough to integrate the calendar db with the smf/tp db. For now though I only want others to be able to see it, not schedule stuff. If they want an appt with me the can email me & I'll add it to the calendar. keeps the riffraff from screwing things up.
