Title: [PAID]TechnoDragon Hosting
Post by: technodragon73 on April 14, 2006, 02:10:37 PM
I am pleased to announce the birth of a new hosting company...TechnoDragon Hosting!

http://golddragonhosting.com

and my forum: http://forum.technodragon.net

It all starts with an Idea...
That idea was simple. It started out as just a hobby, an activity to keep my free time filled. But it has turned into much more. Now I try to bring the best light-hearted fun to everyone who comes here. A hobby that has become a passion. This passion turned into an enterprise. Now I can bring possibly the best prices on web-hosting available on the market. "Why?" you ask. Well it's simple...If I can give you a great product with excellent customer support, then the money will follow. I am driven, not by a love of money, but by an honest desire to provide the best experience I can and if I can make a little money doing it...all the better.

Copper Plan $4/mo with annual purchase
500 MB Hosting
50 GB Transfer
1 Domain hosted
10 SubDomains
2 FTP accounts
5 MySQL databases
20 POP3 accounts
20 Email aliases
Front Page Extensions
SPAM filter
Anti-Virus filter
E-mail filter

Gold Plan $8.00/mo with annual purchase
1,500 MB Hosting
150 GB Transfer
4 Domains hosted
40 SubDomains
4 FTP accounts
15 MySQL databases
100 POP3 accounts
100 Email aliases
Front Page Extensions
SPAM filter
Anti-Virus filter
E-mail filter

I have strived to provide the cheapest hosting possible. Custom plans are available upon request.

The amounts of storage may not be astronomical, but that is due to the fact  I will NEVER oversell my capacity!

You might offer web-design too, to sweeten the deal.

May i ask you, how long you've been on hosting business?

Your story is VERY similar to my story, actually i had a hobby: a browser based multiplayer game, it grew, i needed faster connection, took my server to a datacenter, needed a little bit of cash to cover expenses, and suddenly i had customers coming in from every direction.

After 6months since taking the server to datacenter, i had already also 4 client servers there, and my dedicated 10Mbps connection was getting already quite busy. :)

ROFL...that is nearly exactly my story.  I have only been at this for a few months, however, I have not been nearly as fortunate as you in getting customers...what is the trick?

And it helps also to be recommended by someone who is a client at present, as it was in my case. :)

Marketing, techno.  Try advertising with google adWords or hit the pavement and sell.

Most of our business has been made face to face.

Service and support sells. If you can deliver top notch service and support with good uptime people will soon find you and those are the best clients to have!

My advice is to sponsor and offer to register domains for users who wish to promote SMF projects such as certain mods etc. Helps gain very good exposure in the community.

Don't make promises you can never deliver, be honest and your business will grow.

Already ahead of ya stig...was out doing a business presentation to a consortium of businesses today...

And thatnks for the advice redone...part of the reason i got into doing this myself was for that very reason, personalized service, and working with someone that makes and keeps promises!

Honesty sells!

Keep watching this space though as my web hosting is taking a turn for the better!

If your jumping into hosting in a serious way then I would look at using ModernBill and integrating that with your support software. Something like cerebus I always found was good.

A lot of people who know what they are buying will see you using phpcoin and be turned off to be honest. For those that don't know anything about buying hosting obviously they will have no clue.

When I ran a small host we had integrated modernbill and the support side and it was awesome. I would work on your logo and adding more graphics to your site too. Good luck with your hosting business.  :)

Some hosts like HostGator provide Client Exec for free if ModernBill is too expensive at first.  That is, if ur a reseller with them.  You can also check with ur datacenter and see if they provide this.

i appreciate all the info...most likely i will be switching to a paid software though...phpcoin is just not working out like i want it too anyway.

Sent you the PM.

I have modified my first post to reflect the changes in hosting.  Keep in mind that I will never oversell my capacity that is why the storage amounts are lower than most.  You get exactly what you pay for and usually a bit more! (mainly because for most clients if they need it I will usually help them build their website as well for usually nothing extra!)

My company Logo has also changed (you can see it in my avatar)
