I understand how to use ssi.php on pages not within my forum in order to calculate the number of 'guests' and 'spiders' on other pages. This number can then be displayed to people inside my forum.
However, how would I got about displaying the number of guests alone to those on a page not in my forum? I like the way TP renders "who's online" and would like this rendering to be displayed to those not within my forum.
A particular example for clarity...
I have an online shopping mall. Those inside the forum can "see" how many spiders and guests are inside the shopping mall. No problem there. However, if you happen to be in the shopping mall yourself, you have no idea about the activity level of the shopping mall. Therefore, from within the shopping mall, I would like to know how to render how many "guests" and "spiders" are inside the shopping mall.
I understand that I can use SSI in order to display this already; however, displaying it using the standard SSI function does not render it in the same manner that TP renders it. TP's rendering looks more elegant, and therefore I want to use it instead of SSI.
Thanks!
For further clarity..
Just as "Who's Online" is displayed from within a block to guests on the forum is what I want to appear to everyone in the online shopping mall.
try putting this in your malls files:
<?php
include"./YOURSITE.COM/SMF-FOLDER/SSI.php";
ssi_logOnline();
?>
change the vlaues in red
that will allow you to show whos anywhere wherever that code in included (in whichever file) and count everyone using the info
