Title: ID10T error! (FIXED) Hopefully this is a stupid question but how do I
Post by: bzmorrow on October 07, 2005, 07:40:58 AM
How can I have a animated avatar? I would like to let m users have this, but how?

I see it over at SMF forum, I have checked everywhere inside the avatar settings and I cant seem to find it. I dont remember having this before on the 1.0.5 install.

Anyone help me out here?

Create and save your avatar file as an animated .gif,  :coolsmiley: just like the smileys :2funny:

It must be getting late. :o

I have animated gif's but when I upload them they are no longer animated?

If I upload it Like below-below, it works, but my avatar to the left here is suppsed to be dancing

Do you see the animations on this forum? It could be a PC/Browser issue.  Or perhaps the encoding format of your FTP client.  SMF forums have info on the correct settings.

I do not see the animation on this forum, as far as avatar but I do see the animation from my ftp site and the uploaded avatar?

This is getting confusing, my "profile" avatar is not dancing like it should. I also checked in FF but I normally use IE. no go

Whew, yes it is getting late....

Is your avatar 'hosted' on the web, or just up-loaded to bloc's forum?

Hi bz,

I think what is happening is that your avatar is being resized, try increasing the space allowed for it.

You do this in Avatar settings, via admin, forum, attachments and avatars.

Edit: Yes, it is being resized, if you check the properties of the avatar that is not moving it is a .png, for it to show as an animated avatar here, you will need to reduce the size so that it is less than the defaults bloc has set in Avatar settings.

The "be nice kill again" is on this site, the dancing mini me is on my hosted site.

You might have something there, then that would also mean the Bloc has the setting here sized down, no?

No thats not it the size of the mini me is 60x100 and well within the bytes size.
But I did check on my forum, it didnt work =\

Has anyone tried to use a animated avatar on there site, and does it work?

Its definately been changed to a .png here bz.

It seems that bloc is using a max width of 65, your avatar is wider, hence the resize and change to .png

I use an animated Avatar on my boards, so do a few of my users.

Thank bur, I think I might have found the trouble. It was an ID10T error,
The nut behind the keyboard!

IT WAS ME!!

Cool  :)

Was it a size issue?
