Popup TV
Step1:
Download this file and upload to forum root
Right click and save as (html file) (http://path-to-peace.net/forum/webtv.html)

Step2:
Copy this image and upload to forum root (dont worry its resized in the code so will appear smaller in the side block)
(https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fpath-to-peace.net%2Fforum%2Fwebtv111.png&hash=e33fe097e27db3ce5f57c4e8b856adc00162d580)
copy this code and put in a side SCRIPT block:

<center>
<b>Watch the latest news on our live webTv, click to launch and enjoy!<br>
<a href="webtv.html" onclick="window.open('webtv.html','Radio','height=350,width=320'); return false;">
<img src="webtv111.png" border=0 width=130 height=130><br>Launch WebTV</a></center>

The demo is on my page still but ive replaced the whole thing in the screenshot with the popup one now :)

Oh yeah that's the code I used.  It opened up in a full page, same browser.  Is it possible to open up in a new browser, small window, like the one attached.  If not, no problem.

You're right it does work, but only when I use FireFox.  When I use IE6, it pulls up full page.

We should probably start a different thread, but just to start, I have 4 media blocks that would be great to combine, if possible.  Your help would be great!

They are not positioned like that on my site, I just photoshoped them that way just to show you the blocks.

in the AVS Streaming Radio, Members Picks & also Jukebox blocks, are those links popup or normal ones?

I am asking because if I can i'll try and organize them in a drop down list type menu.

The web TV should be simple enough like on my page :up:

The AVS Streaming Radio has pop up when you click on the titles, The Member Picks are links to Articles that open in a separate window, and the Jukebox blocks is also a pop little Windows Media Player type window.

How to customize

Now unfortunately I was unable to make a dropdown list for the popup menu items but I did change the 'Member Selection" thingies into a drop down list.

To customize is very easy really find all the instances for YOURLINK.COM in the code and replace them with the respective links for each of your popups or pages.

Also part of each popup link tag is a part like this 'Radio','height=200,width=310'); here specify the size for that popup window.

Then find all the captitalized description for the links in the drop down menu MENU ITEM 1 DESCRIPTION HERE etc etc and replace them with ur description.

Ive already put all your menu items in there - all you will need to do is specify the links and sizes thats all.

Thats all really. If you need further help, just ask.

Test out the empty menu first by creating a test block and adding the code AS IS in it first to see if you like it even ;)

----Added----

Ive updated the code a bit to fix a few issues with spacing and added a preview on my test site - note the links there are all dummy links!

i dont know why the transparencies on the PNG files dont show up in IE - they show up really nicely in FF

why is IE such a headache lol
if i find any better icons ill post them here :up:

Oh yeah I see what you mean on IE.  Why, why, why   :knuppel2:  Still looks great either way, but better in FF for sure.

A little off-topic, but since we are talking about Labpixies - how do you put thier radio in a popup format??
Title: Re: Web TV Block
Post by: akulion on November 23, 2006, 07:36:12 PM
it wont be hard at all

all u have to do is make a link it it like so

<a href="labradio.html" onclick="window.open('labradio.html','Radio','height=350,width=320'); return false;">Radio</a>

and ofcourse u will have to create a small file called labradio.html with the code for the radio in it

havent had a look myself at the radio but the procedure is pretty much the same as the tv block
Title: Re: Web TV Block
Post by: kran1um on November 23, 2006, 08:13:09 PM
Well I copied the Web TV thing, but now I have it as a whole page...what am I doing wrong? its not a popup, its just another page, so basically I have to open two pages in order to surf and listen..dang.. :uglystupid2:

Ok they changed it up a bit and the change the station button didn't work (where you changed to other stations) it was a dead link.

I changed the webtv.html to go to the new page to redo the channels but now the ads are back in the pop up to a point.

the changed webtv.html
<html>

<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<title>Web TV</title>
</head>

<body bgcolor="#00000f">

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.labpixies.com/lib/lp_gadget_syndication.php?_gadgetid=25&_frame_color=light_grey"> </script> marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 width=300 height=230 border=0 frameborder=0 style="border:none;" scrolling=no>
      </iframe>
<p align="center"><font face="Verdana" size="1" color=white>Click on one of the buttons on
the TV

to tune into the different channels

You can also select your own channels

by clicking on the settings button

The channels you select are only visible to you

So feel free to customize and enjoy.</font></p>

</body>

</html>

the old link looked like this
http://www.labpixies.com/campaigns/tv/tv_stations.php

here is the new one they changed

Popup TV
Step1:
Download this file and upload to forum root
Right click and save as (html file) (http://path-to-peace.net/forum/webtv.html)

Step2:
Copy this image and upload to forum root (dont worry its resized in the code so will appear smaller in the side block)
(https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fpath-to-peace.net%2Fforum%2Fwebtv111.png&hash=e33fe097e27db3ce5f57c4e8b856adc00162d580)
copy this code and put in a side SCRIPT block:

<center>
<b>Watch the latest news on our live webTv, click to launch and enjoy!<br>
<a href="webtv.html" onclick="window.open('webtv.html','Radio','height=350,width=320'); return false;">
<img src="webtv111.png" border=0 width=130 height=130><br>Launch WebTV</a></center>

The demo is on my page still but ive replaced the whole thing in the screenshot with the popup one now :)

All outside streaming will draw BW from your server yes, so if you are worried about using up BW and you have a lot of members online on your site, this will not be a good script for you  :-\

Ive put this wev tv  on the site ,but i cant  get the stations that I set to be for all members,Like Everybody would have to pick their station.

so is there any thing you gotta put in the code they give for the web tv to keep the channels set,or  everybody has to set their own channels.........?

Looks like there is no configuration done on the TP side the way the script is handle, by just putting it in an iframe. I don't see this script on the creators site anymore, so you may just be out of luck.
