The shout box uses an absolute url of the poster at the time they posted, which means that if you move the forum the username links will be broken.
good catch lol :P i guess i'm going to notice that as soon as my new site is up (been 36 hours since i registered it... waiting on dns)
ugh... I hate DNS.
taking especially long this time... last site i registered took probably 10 hours. this one has so far been 36
It can take up to 72 hours. I usually find they go on in less that 18 though.
I will correct this..not sure if it will will in this release, but something for the next def.
72? jeez.. i heard it was 48 max! it's already been almost 48 hours (just 9 more and it will have been)...
Having just changed domains for my site, I can confirm this is still an issue even with TP 0.971 :o .. Not a big deal for me, it was time to clean out the old shouts anyways .. but I thought it worth pointing out again.

Hrm.. . I have moved literally hundreds of sites without catching this... but that's because of the way I move a site. I export the database, edit the exported file, and do a search/replace. I replace both the URL Paths and Direct File Paths globally throughout the database. So in essence, my editor changes all the shoutbox ones as well. heh
Anyway, good catch!
Thats a good idea! .. I'll keep that in mind if ever I need to move the site again ... But hopefully that won't be occuring again any time soon :p

I will look into changing those hardlinks there.
