Title: TP remove recent posts
Post by: Goat Spirit on September 25, 2006, 07:52:13 PM
Anyone know how to make it so it doesn't show recent threads on the "forum" and "homepage"?

What kind of a comment is this?

First you ask someone for help and then you have the nerve to insult them?

If you think that the people who support others problems here are such losers then please take your support questions elsewhere - it is highly rude of you to say something like this and you should apologize

And if you meant it as a joke - please try and make better jokes instead of jokes which others may find offensive

Woah woah woah now hold up. I did not mean it as an insult or a joke, it was just a question.

It is a rude question all the same. If you dont think it is, then go ask your boss at work if he has a life and watch his reaction.

G6 is one of the leading members of TP and also a very helpful and good person and I for one am not going to sit around and listen to people ask such ridiclous questions.

So in all decency, please do admit where you make a mistake and simply say sorry to the resective individual, otherwise it will be a cause of distress or even agitation to others.

but your still here...and so are those who take the time to answer questions to those who ask...

karma has a funny way of goin round...

please be a little kinder to those whom , (you know nothing about), yet take time out of their day to be here ...

It might be worth it to offer an apology...especially since you mention it wasn't a joke...not very nice imo :(

hrm... guys, I think you all got misconstrued.  I think it's probably due to all the different cultures you can find across the internet, however I think everyone - starting from Aku, all the way down went a little overboard on Goat.

First, when I read goat's remark, I immediately understood it.  It's something said in the US quite often, and its not meant to be derogatory in the least.  In fact, the implications of the remark are that G6 is a hard worker.

When someone says something like "hey, you are always here, don't you have a life?" it is meant as "geez, you are a hard worker, you are always here".  It is a light-hearted statement that you acknowlege the efforts of someone else.

So, its nothing more than a cultural difference, I hope you guys can all take a deep breath, relax, and understand he obviously did not mean it the way you interpreted it.  This can happen with many cultures, we all just need to be aware of cultural differences.  Before you jump on someone for something you interpret as bad, try to think of why the person would say something bad outright without even knowing the other person.  In most cases, you'll find that you might just be misinterpreting what was said since most people are not going to simply be that way to you.

well if he meant it that way then I guess its ok

But still in most of Europe and Asia if someone says that to you it basically means "you are a loser" (https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fpath-to-peace.net%2Fforum%2Fmenuicons%2Fambulance.gif&hash=c959c75eb08f76d1b7ca679de3395e172cddfd4f)

So as long as its a misunderstanding then let by gones be by gones and let get on to work! (https://www.tinyportal.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fpath-to-peace.net%2Fforum%2Fmenuicons%2Freading.gif&hash=682e0110f742aaeadd83811e161c9bdb53106063)

LOL.. Aku, I love that wizard smiley!  hehe.. is that part of a smiley set?  or is it just a one off?  If its just a one off, I'll just snag it from the post here, but if it is part of a smiley set, point me in the direction I can download that set!  :)

Goat, I hope you don't hold anything against any of these fine people here.  We all have misunderstandings from time to time, and I guarantee you will find that these people here are not only kind and generous, but extremely helpful.

As for your original post, I'm glad you found the answer out.  The more you dig into TP, the more I think you will find just how cool it is.  There are so many options to the configuration that I find it fun just exploring the many things I can do to make it look different.  Doing that usually answers questions, I myself have, from time to time that I generally find more rewarding.

There are always those times when some things are just too difficult to figure out, and you will find that the many good folks here will help you get it resolved.  You can see this here, by simply looking through the many questions answered by not only the TP Team, but other members of the TP community as well.

So in essence, what I am saying is, don't let a misunderstanding discourage you from seeking help or asking questions here in the future.  :)
